Stranded is a Gamemode where the player can only travel between their  Private Island and  The Garden. Additionally, Stranded profiles are similar to ♲ Ironman profiles in that they do not allow Trading with players outside of the Co-op, they use the Special Bazaar, and the Auction House cannot be accessed on Stranded.

The gamemode was officially declared End of Life on August 13, 2025 and will receive one final update to fix some of the most affecting issues.^[1]

Overview

Stranded profiles can be played Solo or as a Co-op. Players on Stranded profiles are restricted to their Private Island and Garden for the entirety of the game, so there are several changes to make parts of the game's content obtainable. Players are able to place down certain NPCs on their island, such as Jacob and Maddox the Slayer, to make their respective content available. NPCs can be unlocked by reaching a specific milestone, such as reaching a certain Skill level or obtaining a specific item. Players can also trade with Villagers, crops grow faster on the  Private Island, and plenty of requirements such as Dungeon Requirements and Faction Requirements on items and minions are ignored.

Mobs

On Stranded profiles, the level of some naturally spawning hostile mobs is the same as the player's Combat level. For example, a player with Combat VII (7) will have mostly level 7 monsters spawn on their island. All monsters require darkness to spawn. Runic Mobs can also spawn on Stranded profiles. Below is the list of mobs that can spawn on Stranded profiles.

NPCs can be summoned by clicking on the Island NPCs button in the SkyBlock Menu. Doing so will open a menu with all of the NPCs that can be summoned, including the requirements to summon each NPC.

Collections

Many collection materials cannot be obtained in the same way as in the Classic and Ironman gamemode. Once enough materials have been collected, Minions are usually a very useful way to obtain more of the same material. Below is a table with information on how to progress in all collections. 	Melon Slice	Anita sells 5 Melon Seeds for 5 Jacob's Tickets. Summoning Anita requires Farming X (10). 5 Enchanted Melon Slice is a guaranteed drop from Earthworm Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot.
	Mushroom	Obtained from the Roofed Forest Island, which is crafted from a recipe unlocked at Dark Oak Log `VI` (6). The Bat Crystal does not regenrate mushrooms. After obtaining one mushroom of each color, they can be grown on Podzol from the Farming Island or the Garden preset to obtain more. Either 1 Enchanted Red Mushroom or 1 Enchanted Brown Mushroom is guaranteed to drop from Slug Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot.
	Raw Mutton	Dropped by Sheep.
	Nether Wart	Nether Wart can be crafted from a recipe unlocked at Combat VIII (8). More can be obtained from the Nether Wart Crystal on the Nether Wart Island, which requires Netherrack `I` (1) to craft. ▦ Recipe 3 Enchanted Nether Wart is a guaranteed drop from Beetle Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot.
	Potato	1% chance to be dropped by Zombies. They can then be planted on farmland. 3 Enchanted Potato is a guaranteed drop from Locust Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot.
	Pumpkin	Dropped by some Spooky Mobs and Spooky Sea Creatures during the Spooky Festival. Pumpkins can be placed in the crafting grid to turn them into pumpkin seeds, which can then be planted. 1 Enchanted Pumpkin is a guaranteed drop from Rat Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot. A Rat Pest is guaranteed to spawn during the Pest tutorial at Garden Level V (5).
	Raw Chicken	Dropped by Chickens.

	Seeds	Obtained from the small patch of Wheat in front the Barn in the Garden. 20% chance to be dropped from breaking Long Grass and Double Tallgrass, which start on the island in small amounts and can be grown by using Bone Meal on Grass Blocks. Seeds can be planted to grow Wheat.
	Sugar Cane	Generated by the Desert Crystal on the Desert Island. Prior to reaching Cactus `V` (5), the Desert Island can be obtained from Villagers. 2 Enchanted Sugar is a guaranteed drop from Mosquito Pests on  The Garden and can be used to paste a plot.
	Wheat	There is a small patch of Wheat in front the Barn in the Garden. Grown by planting Seeds. 1 Enchanted Wheat is a guaranteed drop from Fly Pests on  The Garden.
Mining Collections
	Coal	There is a single coal ore at 7, 93, 36 on the island that has Jerry. Using 1 Coal to craft an Auto Smelter allows any Foraging Minion to make Coal. There is a Trade for Coal, which has no unlock requirements, but it doesn't increase the collection. Wood can be smelted in a furnace to make Charcoal, which increases the Coal collection. Coal is also a drop from Lava Fishing.
	Cobblestone	Obtained by mining Stone. Can be obtained in large amounts by making a Cobblestone generator using the materials in the chest on the island that has Jerry. There is also a Cobblestone Minion that starts on the island.
	Diamond	Dropped by Charged Creepers. Harvested by Revenant Minions.
	Emerald	Obtained by trading with Villagers. Note that Emerald Minions are 40 times slower on Stranded profiles.
	End Stone	Dropped by Zealots.
	Gemstone	Some types are dropped by Crystal Hollows Sea Creatures.
	Glowstone Dust	Dropped by Witches.
	Gold Ingot	Dropped by Redstone Pigmen. Dropped by Golden Ghouls (requires Combat XXIV (24)).
	Gravel	Obtained by using a TNT explosion to destroy Stone. Both naturally-occurring Stone and manually placed Stone can drop Gravel. Sometimes Flint drops instead of Gravel.
	Hard Stone	Dropped by Water Worms.
	Ice	Obtained by using any tool with Silk Touch to mine Ice, which is formed by letting water freeze in areas where the biome was changed with a Taiga Biome Stick (requires Spruce Log `IV` (4)). Dropped by some Winter Sea Creatures. Obtained by fishing with the Ice Rod, which has a chance to drop from Frozen Steve.
	Iron Ingot	Dropped by Iron Golems.
	Lapis Lazuli	Dropped by Lapis Zombies.
	Mithril	Dropped by Star Sentrys.
	Mycelium	Purchased from a Villager Trade for 1 Enchanted Emerald. The item can be purchased from the following Stranded-only Trade, but it does not count towards the collection. Trade: 1 Dirt, 1 Red Mushroom, and 1 Brown Mushroom → 1 Mycelium (requires Mushroom `II` (2)) The following instructions allow the player to farm Mycelium and increase the collection. Show Instructions Make a large dirt platform. Either do it in an area that is exposed to sunlight, or light up the surface. Mycelium needs a light level of at least 9 above it to spread to nearby dirt, and the dirt needs a light level of at least 4, so not everything needs to be at light level 9 or higher, but most of it should be. If you want to increase your Mycelium collection, plant a bunch of 2x2 trees on top of the dirt. Trees place dirt blocks under their trunks when they generate, and once they have been turned into Mycelium, these blocks will count towards the Mycelium collection. Add one or more Mycelium blocks for it to spread from. If you don't have any yet, use the Stranded-only Trade to get some. Wait until the platform has finished turning into Mycelium. Use a shovel with Silk Touch to harvest the Mycelium. If you don't need to increase the collection, you can use a Block Zapper instead.
	Nether Quartz	Dropped by Zombie Miners (requires Fishing XXIV (24)). Produced by the Voidling Minion (requires Enderman Slayer `IV` (4)).
	Netherrack	Obtained by Lava Fishing.
	Obsidian	Obtained by using a pickaxe with a Breaking Power of at least 4 to mine Obsidian generated by putting a lava source in contact with water. Additional Water Buckets and Lava Buckets are available through Trades. Obsidian can also be mined from the Nether Wart Island (requires Netherrack `I` (1)). Dropped by Obsidian Defenders.
	Red Sand	Purchased from a Villager Trade for 1 Enchanted Emerald. The item can be purchased from the following Stranded-only Trade, but it does not count towards the collection. Trade: 1 Sand → 1 Red Sand (requires Sand `II` (2))
	Redstone Dust	Dropped by Redstone Pigmen.
	Sand	Obtained from the Desert Island. Prior to reaching Cactus `V` (5), the Desert Island can be obtained from Villagers. Obtained from the Pond Island (requires Raw Cod `IV` (4)).
	Sulphur	The Sulphur collection is not required to unlock the Builder. Purchased from a Villager Trade for 1 Enchanted Emerald. Obtained by killing Corrupted Sea Creatures. The following instructions allow the player to get larger amounts of Sulphur and increase the collection. Show Instructions Lava fish to get Corrupted Fragments, which are guaranteed to drop from Corrupted Sea Creatures. The following increase the chance to fish up Corrupted Sea Creatures. +0.1% per level from the Fishing skill. +1% per level from the Corruption Enchantment, which is obtained by killing corrupted mobs. +0.2% per tier from the Infection Attribute, which has a 1/3 chance to be applied to a Magma Rod when it is crafted. When you reach Magmafish `IV` (4) (1,000 items), you can craft a Magma Rod with 10 Silver Magmafish. Magma Rods require Fishing XXVII (27) to use. Attributes on rods can be combined using /attributemenu if you have an active Booster Cookie. When you reach Magmafish `VI` (6) (15,000 items), you may want to make a Small Lava Fishing Sack with 8 Silver Magmafish. Continue once you have 20 Corrupted Fragments. Using the instructions for Mycelium above, reach Mycelium `VI` (6) (10,000 items) and get 25,600 total Mycelium. Craft 160 Enchanted Mycelium. Craft a Corrupt Soil with the 20 Corrupted Fragments and 160 Enchanted Mycelium. Place the Corrupt Soil in a Minion that generates mobs. Corrupt Soil makes the Minion generate Corrupted Mobs, which lets it collect Sulphur and Corrupted Fragments. The amount of Sulphur and Corrupted Fragments depends on the amount of items the Minion collects, so a Slime Minion is the most efficient option. Once the Minion has collected 20 Corrupted Fragments, get another 160 Enchanted Mycelium and craft another Corrupt Soil. Keep making more Corrupt Soil for as many Minions as you like.
Combat Collections
	Blaze Rod	Dropped by Blazes. Dropped by Lava Blazes from Lava Fishing. Getting Blaze Powder from Lava Fishing increases the Blaze Rod collection, but Blaze Rods cannot be obtained this way.
	Bone	Dropped by Skeletons, Wolves, and Old Wolves.
	Chili Pepper	Obtained by putting LEGENDARY Inferno Minion Fuel into an Inferno Minion. The following instructions explain how to do so in more detail. Show Instructions These instructions assume that you already have the necessary equipment for slaying Tier I Inferno Demonlords. ▦ Show Recipes First, gather the following materials and use them to craft 2 Amalgamated Crimsonite. 3248 324324 8324 240 8 Enchanted Mycelium 8 Enchanted Red Sand 32 Enchanted Glowstone Dust 32 Enchanted Magma Cream 32 Enchanted Blaze Powder 32 Enchanted Nether Wart Slay Tier I Inferno Demonlords until you have 256 Derelict Ashe. Craft 2 Molten Powder using the Amalgamated Crimsonite and Derelict Ashe. 32 3232 32 Craft a Firedust Dagger using 30 Silver Magmafish, 1 Molten Powder, and a Stick. 30 Craft a Twilight Dagger using 5 Enchanted Sulphur, 1 Molten Powder, and a Stick. 5 Using the daggers, slay Tier II Inferno Demonlords until you have 80 Derelict Ashe. Craft a Blaze Minion using 80 Blaze Rods and a Wooden Sword. 101010 1010 101010 Craft an Inferno Minion using the Blaze Minion and 80 Derelict Ashe. 101010 1010 101010 Keep slaying Tier II Inferno Demonlords. As you get more Derelict Ashe, make more Inferno Minions. Except for Tier I, all tiers of the Inferno Demonlord have a chance to drop Distillates. The Tier II boss has a 21.1% chance to drop 2 matching Distillates. The Tier III boss has a 20.3% chance to drop a set of 6 to 10 matching Distillates. The Tier IV boss has a 19.2% chance to drop a set of 16 to 24 matching Distillates. Continue once you have 13,824 Crude Gabagool from the Inferno Minions and 6 matching Distillates. Craft 604 Sulphuric Coal using the following materials. You only need 601, but they are crafted 4 at a time. 44 4444 44 412 151 Enchanted Sulphur, which is equivalent to 24,160 Sulphur. 2,416 Enchanted Coal, which would take 62 days to get using a single Tier XI Coal Minion. 	Magma Cream	Dropped by Magma Cubes. Also obtained by Lava Fishing.
	Rotten Flesh	Dropped by Zombies and other monsters.
	Slimeball	Dropped by Slimes.
	Spider Eye	Dropped by all variants of Spiders.
	String	Dropped by all variants of Spiders.
Foraging Collections
	Oak Log	Harvested from trees grown from Oak Saplings, which can be obtained from the leaves of both the tree that starts on the island and trees grown from the saplings. Dropped by Pack Spirits.
	Birch Log	Harvested from trees grown from Birch Saplings, which can be obtained from the Birch Leaves in the bushes in front of the Barn in the Garden, a Stranded-only Trade, and from the leaves of trees grown from the saplings. Villagers

Villagers can be obtained from curing Zombie Villagers. Players can sell some items to Villagers in exchange for Emeralds and Enchanted Emeralds. Players can then exchange these Emeralds and Enchanted Emeralds for Pets, Dark Auction items, and items from Merchant NPCs, among other things.

Curing Zombie Villagers

Zombie Villagers can be cured by being fed a Golden Apple while under the Weakness effect, just like in vanilla Minecraft. Golden Apples can be obtained as a RARE drop from fishing or by crafting with gold from killing Redstone Pigman. The Weakness effect can be obtained by having a Witch throw a Splash Potion of Weakness onto the Zombie Villager or by brewing a Splash Weakness Potion.

Villager Leveling

Villagers level up after a set number of Emeralds are traded. When a Villager levels up, it unlocks more trades. After a level is reached, the counter resets. Enchanted Emeralds count as 160 Emeralds for Villager leveling.

Notes on Villagers

Villagers do not despawn.
Villagers cannot be bred.
The prices offered by a single Villager never change.
Punching or otherwise harming a Villager does not affect the prices.
The prices offered by different Villagers when trading items for Emeralds can differ slightly between Villagers, but prices when trading Emeralds for other items are always the same for that item.
Hostile creatures do not attack Villagers.
If there are at least six Villagers on the island, Iron Golems will spawn, allowing the player to unlock the Iron Ingot collection.
Villagers move very quickly once cured, so it is advised to cure Zombie Villagers after they are trapped.
Villagers tend to clip through walls, so it is best to use a solid block at their feet and a non-solid block at head level. Using a solid block at head level can suffocate them.
Do not place a ceiling directly above them since this can cause mobs to clip through the floor.
The first Villager cured on each profile is guaranteed to have the Desert Island trade. If this Villager dies, the next does not have the same guarantee.
A bug causes Villagers to occasionally load as vanilla villagers. This applies to all Villagers when it happens and can be fixed by reloading the island (go to the lobby, wait at least five seconds, and rejoin). Trading with vanilla villagers does not count towards collections.

Trades Menu

The Stranded Trades menu that can be accessed through /trade has a few changes. The Portal to the Hub Trade is removed and there are a few additional trades exclusive to Stranded. The regular water and lava bucket trades are still available upon meeting their normal requirements.

Players on Stranded profiles can participate in most Events, but some Events do not affect Stranded profiles.

Recurring Events

Jacob's Farming Contest: ✔ Jacob and Anita can be found in the Island NPCs menu and in  The Garden.
Dark Auction: ✕ Dark Auctions are not available, but many items from the Dark Auction are obtainable by trading with Villagers.
New Year Celebration: ✔ The Baker can be found in the Island NPCs menu.
Traveling Zoo: ✔ Oringo can be found in the Island NPCs menu. Spawning Oringo requires 6 unique pets.
Hoppity's Hunt: ✔ Hoppity can be found in the Island NPCs menu.
Spooky Festival: (partial)
- Spooky Mobs can spawn on the Private Island on Stranded profiles.
- Spooky Sea Creatures can also be fished up.
- The Headless Horseman can be spawned on the private island.
- The Fear Mongerer can be found in the Island NPCs menu. Spawning The Fear Mongerer requires Combat V (5).
- Leaderboard rewards can still be obtained from the Events menu in the SkyBlock Menu.
  - Note: score is capped at 5,000 points for Stranded Profiles
- The Bat Firework cannot be purchased. Instead, Bat Piñatas will occasionally spawn.
- Crazy Witches fully heal very frequently, but it is barely possible to kill them. For example, they can be killed by trapping them in lava, using a Starlight Wand, and hitting them frequently.
Season of Jerry and other Winter Island features: (partial)
- The Winter Island cannot be visited, but Stranded players can fish up Winter Sea Creatures on the Private Island any time during Late Winter.
- Fishing up Winter Sea Creatures is the only way to obtain Gifts since Stranded players cannot travel to the Winter Island to participate in the Defend Jerry's Workshop event.
- Players can open any type of Gift by placing it on the ground and opening it as usual, even on a Solo profile.
- On Co-op profiles, giving the gift to a Co-op member instead of oneself will give the reward to both players, resulting in essentially double drops.
- Rewards from the Chicken Race can be bought from Villagers.
Mayor Election: ✕
- Elections cannot be voted on by players on Stranded profiles.
- Players on Stranded profiles cannot interact with elected mayors.
- Many mayor perks still apply to Stranded profiles, so it is still beneficial to vote on the election from a non-Stranded profile.
- For more information on which mayor perks apply to Stranded, see § Mayors below.

Other Events

Ⓑ Bingo: The Bingo interface can be opened via the /bingo command, allowing access to the Bingo profile, card, and shop. Items cannot be transferred from a Bingo profile to a Stranded profile.
✕ Century Cake: Simon was not in the Island NPCs menu during the Year 200 event, so he is unlikely to appear for future century events.
✔ SkyBlock Anniversary: During the 3rd to 6th SkyBlock Anniversary events, Simon was in the Island NPCs Menu, and Stranded players were able to claim the Party Hat.
- ✕ Shiny Pigs: The Pig Shop was available in the Island NPCs Menu during the 3rd to 5th SkyBlock Anniversary events. However, since this was moved to Year of the Pig, it does not function properly. During Year of the Pig, nothing appears on Stranded. During SkyBlock Anniversaries, Shiny Pigs spawn but the Pig Shop is unavailable.

Mayors

While mayors cannot be voted on or spoken with on Stranded profiles, many perks still apply.

Aatrox: ✔ All perks apply as usual.
Cole: (partial) Since his Mining XP Buff perk and the Mining Fiesta event only work on public islands, and that there is no access to The Forge so Molten Forge has no purpose, the only one of his perks that affects Stranded is the Prospection perk, which increases the speed of Mining Minions by 25%.
Diana: (partial) The Mythological Ritual event is only available on the Hub Island. The Griffin Pet cannot be obtained because the mayors cannot be spoken with on Stranded. Her other perks, Pet XP Buff, Lucky! and Sharing is Caring, apply as usual.
Diaz: (partial) Because you can't access Shen's Auction or Stonks Auction on Stranded profiles, her only perk that applies is Shopping Spree.
Finnegan:✔ All perks apply as usual.
Foxy: (partial) Because Carnivals can't be accessed in Stranded, the only perk that applies to Stranded profiles is her Extra Events if it happens to be Fishing Festival or Spooky Festival and Sweet Benevolence applies as usual^[Confirm].
Marina: ✔ The Fishing XP Buff perk includes Stranded islands, and her other perks apply as usual.
Paul: ✕ Since dungeons are not available, none of Paul's perks apply to Stranded profiles.

Special Candidates

Derpy: (partial) All perks apply as usual, except the QUAD TAXES!!! perk does not affect Stranded because Stranded players cannot access the Auction House and Bazaar anyway.
Jerry: ✔ All perks apply as usual.
Scorpius: ✕ Since mayors cannot be spoken with on Stranded, his Bribe perk does not apply. Since the Dark Auction cannot be accessed, his only other perk, Darker Auctions, also does not apply.

One-Time Candidates

Many items that were only obtainable while the mayor was Dante or Technoblade can be obtained by trading with Villagers. During the 3rd SkyBlock Anniversary event, the Pig Shop was available in the Island NPCs Menu, and Shiny Pigs spawned on the island during part of the event.

Fishing

A few changes were made to Fishing for Stranded profiles only.

The debuff to Sea Creature Chance on the Private Island is removed.
Fishing bobbers can deal damage to mobs.
Sea Creatures that usually only spawn in some specific locations can be fished up on the Private Island.
The Abyssal Miner drops Nether Quartz.
Water Worms drop Hard Stone.
Name Tags are a GREAT CATCH! from Fishing, and they can be used to prevent mobs from despawning (up to 5 are able to be used).
The Fishing Fairy Souls can be collected like normal, but there is no way to trade them in for buffs, so the only use for Fairy Souls is the Full Set Bonus of Fairy Armor.
Changing the Biome with a Deep Ocean Biome Stick grants +5 Sea Creature Chance in that area.

Lava Fishing

Lava Fishing is possible by summoning Odger from the Island NPCs Menu and getting a Starter Lava Rod.

The chance for Sea Creatures to be Corrupted when Lava Fishing increases by 0.1% per Fishing level.
Magma Rods can be crafted upon reaching Magmafish IV (4) (1000 Magmafish) and used upon reaching Fishing XXVII (27) .
Lava Fishing is the only way to increase the Netherrack and Magmafish collections.

Trophy Fishing

The requirements for catching Trophy Fish are different on Stranded profiles. Show/Hide Trophy Fish List

Getting Obfuscated 1 from Corrupted Sea Creatures doesn't count for Odger's quest, so this method should only be used once all tiers of Obfuscated 1 have been obtained using Corrupted Bait.

Sea Guardians

In addition to being able to be fished up, Sea Guardians used to spawn naturally in water under the following conditions:
- The biome in the area must have been changed with a Deep Ocean Biome Stick.
- The water must be at least 3 blocks deep, and flowing water does count.
- They spawn more frequently when there are more viable spots for them to spawn, including vertically. For example, they can spawn in a 2 wide channel, but they would spawn extremely slowly.
- They will not spawn if there are already six of them on the island.
They have the same stats and drops as the normal variant that can be fished up.
Lily Pads obtained from killing these Sea Guardians do count towards the collection.
Unlike in vanilla Minecraft, Sea Guardians can drown if they are underwater for long enough. However, it takes a while due to their high health.
- Because of this, they will naturally float to the top of the water.
Killing these Sea Guardians does not count towards the Dolphin Pet milestones.

Jerry's Tips

Tips can be bought from Jerry for 1,000 Coins each. These tips are hints for Stranded-specific mechanics. For example, the tip "In my opinion, Magma Cubes are just fiery slimes." is a hint for the mechanic where Magma Cubes can be spawned by setting Slimes on fire. Upon purchasing a tip from Jerry, the player will receive one of the following messages in chat:

Villagers tend to have sweet trades!
Did you know Slimes can spawn near the void?
Cocoa Beans only grow on one type of tree!
Shiny creatures can drop shiny things!
Rabbits can spawn in different biomes!
I've heard that scary monsters can attack your island sometime in Autumn.
The only way to obtain Emeralds is to trade for them!
Pigmen are great at hoarding wealth.
This place desperately needs more Iron Golems!
In my opinion, Magma Cubes are just fiery slimes.
Villagers tend to have cool trades!

The Garden

 The Garden is generally the same as it is for other profiles, with the following differences.

Talking to visitors is not required to unlock them. Garden Level requirements are unchanged.
When pasting a plot, crops cannot be purchased from the Bazaar.
The Fast Travel button in the SkyBlock Menu is replaced with a button that takes the player straight from their island to the Garden, or vice versa.
Tia the Fairy's dialogue as a Garden visitor on Stranded profiles is changed to It's a shame you can't visit public islands. If you ever do, I have a quest for you.

Trivia

There is a limit of 1,000 Villagers on the player's Private Island.^[2]
