Auction House
The Auction House (commonly abbreviated as AH) is a Location in the Village, that conducts auctions. It is a Medieval-styled large building, found just west of spawn or to the right of the map.
Auctions are created and bid on by players. Players can set the starting price of the auction and how long it lasts. To browse or create an auction, the player must interact with the Auction Master or any Auction Agent NPC in the Auction House. Alternatively, if you have a Booster Cookie active, you can use /ah to open the Auction House menu, from anywhere with the exception of a few places such as Dungeons.
Tasks
When the player first enters Auction House, they will be greeted with the following message:
Interface
[edit | edit source]Auction Browser
[edit | edit source]Auction browsing is done in multiple sections:
- Weapons (Swords, Bows, Axes, Magic Weapons)
- Armor (Hats, Chestplates, Leggings, Boots)
- Accessories (Talismans, Orbs, Rings, Artifacts, Relics)
- Consumables (Potions, edible items like Bottle of Jyrre, fish themed items like Voodoo Doll, Grizzly Salmon and the collectable fishes and some seemingly random items like the Gloomlock Grimoire or Power Scrolls)
- Blocks (Dirt, Stone, materials represented by a Minecraft block)
- Tools & Misc. (Tools, magic items, staffs, most SPECIAL items and any other uncategorized items)
At the bottom of the GUI, there are a few options: Search (Oak Wood Sign), Item Tier (Eye of Ender), and Sort (Hopper).

The Search (Oak Wood Sign) option, when clicked, gives a place to type the name of the item.
The Sort (Hopper) option will show options for filtering: Highest Bid, Lowest Bid, Ending Soon, and Most Bids.
- There is a minor bug with this ability where, if you sort the items by Ending Soon, auctions that are ending in 5 or fewer minutes will be on the last page.
The Item Tier (Eye of Ender) will view the different rarities of items: COMMON, UNCOMMON, RARE, EPIC, LEGENDARY, MYTHIC, DIVINE, SPECIAL, and VERY SPECIAL.
The BIN Filter (to the right of Eye of Ender) will switch between viewing Show All (Powered Rail) which shows both auctions and BINs, BIN only (Gold Ingot) which only shows BINs, and Auctions Only (Gold Block) which only shows active auctions. Unlike the other settings, this one can be personalized and does not have a default viewing, meaning it will always automatically go into the mode you were in previously.
The Bid History of an item is shown when clicking on the item in the Browser and hovering the map.
The Auctions Browser defaults to viewing: Weapons, All Tiers, Highest Bid
Auction Manager
[edit | edit source]
To manage your auctions, click the Gold Horse Armor in the Auctions Master GUI. If you don't have any auctions active, it will automatically show you the Create Auction screen. This will show what item you have on auction and their current bid if you already have auctions active.
Creating Auctions
[edit | edit source]To create an auction, click the Gold Horse Armor again at the bottom of the management GUI. This will open up the auction creator. Clicking an item from your inventory will select it as the one to be put up for auction. Clicking the gold bar will let you choose the minimum bidding price. Clicking the clock will let you select the total amount of time players will have to bid on your auction. There are several options from 1 hour to 2 days as well as an option to customize the auction time. If you want to retrieve your item from the top slot, just click it again. Note that if a player leaves this screen (by pressing ESC or E) while an item is in the slot, it will still remain in the slot. You can see it again by going back to the Create Auction screen.
BIN (Buy It Now)
[edit | edit source]By pressing the gold ingot next to the arrow, you can switch your item from being an auction to being a BIN. This allows players to instantly buy your items without needing to wait and does not let other players outbid them. Additionally, the 0.13 update introduced a 20 second grace period after creating a BIN auction where one cannot buy the item during the time.
Other Information
[edit | edit source]When creating auctions, one must pay a fee equal to 5% of the starting price plus additional fees depending on how long the auction will last. BIN taxes work similarly but the fee for starting is 2.5% of the item's price if the price is above 100,000,000 Coins, 2% of the item's price if the price is between 10,000,000 Coins and 100,000,000 Coins, and 1% if it is below 10,000,000 Coins. When collecting auctions and BINs above 1,000,000 Coins, up to 1% tax is collected. The tax is capped so that it can't bring the amount of coins you collect from the auction below 1,000,000 Coins.
When you get outbid on an auction or one buys your BIN, it is mentioned in chat. You can click it to view the auction.
Common items cannot have their starting price be 5x higher than their NPC selling price.
To bid on an auction, you must have enough coins to meet the starting amount, or 2.5% more than the most recent bid subtracting the amount you have already bid on it. Click on an item, then click the gold nugget ("Submit Bid") button. This will subtract the amount from your Purse. If you do not have enough coins, the gold nugget will instead show a poisoned potato. When one fails to get the highest bid on an auction, their coins are refunded.
- When a listed items time hits 4 minutes 45 seconds it gets delisted from the auction browser
- If an item is bid on when the remaining time is under 2 minutes the time will be set to 2 minutes
Mayors' Effect
[edit | edit source]- Derpy - While elected, the collection fee is quadrupled, but not creation or time fees.
- Dante - When Dante was elected, there were Goons posted outside all Official Buildings, including the Auction House. You cannot enter, unless you are wearing a Happy Mask, or have a Dante's Talisman in your inventory.
- Sometimes, if you try to jump up where the Auction Master or Auction Agent are located (even with a Happy Mask or Dante's Talisman) you may be met with one of the Goons messages about needing a Happy Mask.
Trivia
[edit | edit source]- The lowest possible starting bid you can set for an item is 1 Coin. You can bypass the limit of 10 Coins by using the default starting bid of a stick or something equally worthless.
- The top auctions can be found downstairs; there is a staircase leading downstairs to the left of the Auction Master.
- If you have over 100,000 Coins to claim, when you hover over the Claim All option, it will say "Wow that's a lot of coins!"
- Similarly, if you have over 500,000 Coins[Confirm] to claim, it'll instead say "Wow that's TONS of coins!"
- The highest amount of time you can set an auction to is 336 hours (14 days) with a fee of 55,200 Coins.
- The highest amount of coins you can set an auction to is 50,000,000,000 Coins with a fee of 2,500,000,000 Coins (auction) or 1,250,000,000 Coins (BIN). Combining this with the duration fee and the 1M+ tax, the most amount of coins you have to pay to the Auction House is 3,000,055,200 Coins.
- With Derpy however, the quadrupled taxes would increase the total tax to 4,500,055,200 Coins.
- When you jump into the area where the Auction Agents/Master stands you will take knockback and be launched back into the middle. If you re-enter the booth fast enough (e.g. with Jump Boost or an Aspect of the End) it will teleport you to the entrance of the Auction House.
