The Heart of the Mountain, commonly abbreviated as HotM, is a Skill Tree related to  Mining. Leveling it awards Tokens of the Mountain, which can be spent on various Perks found within the tree.

The Heart of the Mountain is unlocked by completing the There are Dwarves? quest from Rhys in the  Obsidian Sanctuary, which requires giving him 15 of any enchanted ore and reaching  Mining XII (12).

As players tier up their Heart of the Mountain, they will gain Tokens of the Mountain, which can be used to unlock various perks. Some of these perks will take effect only on Public Islands with a special mining mechanism (alongside an infinite Mining Fatigue effect).

Heart of the Mountain

• The tree layout above is not built for a specific purpose.

• The menu can be accessed :
  • via the /hotm command (anywhere)
  • via the  Mining menu (anywhere),
  • via the  SkyBlock Menu (while inside the  Dwarven Mines,  Crystal Hollows,  Glacite Tunnels and  Glacite Mineshafts^[Confirm]).

• Players can tier up their Heart of the Mountain by gaining  HotM EXP, which can be accumulated by:
  • completing Commissions:

    • from the  Dwarven Mines, each rewarding +100  HotM EXP at HotM Level 1, +200  HotM EXP at HotM Level 2 and +400  HotM EXP at HotM Level 3 and above;
    • from the  Crystal Hollows, each rewarding +400  HotM EXP.
    • from the  Glacite Tunnels, each rewarding +750  HotM EXP.
    • The first 4 daily Commissions award an additional +900  HotM EXP. At HotM Level 10, this bonus is replaced with 1,600 ᠅ Mithril Powder, 3,200 ᠅ Gemstone Powder or 4,000 ᠅ Glacite Powder, depending on the area.
  • participating in various active Mining Events.

  • completing  Crystal Nucleus Runs, each rewarding +800  HotM EXP.

•  HotM EXP gains from Commissions can be increased by 1%→10% from the Mountain Climber attribute ( Troglobyte Shard).
• All  HotM EXP can be increased by 1%→10% from the Dwarven Training attribute ( Treasure Hoarder Shard).
• The Heart of the Mountain can be reset. This reverts all perk purchases and reimburses all spent ᠅ Mithril Powder, ᠅ Gemstone Powder, ᠅ Glacite Powder and Tokens of the Mountain.
  • Tier and Core of the Mountain levels are kept; thus powder spent on upgrading Core of the Mountain is not reimbursed.

• Heart of the Mountain Tiers 2, 6, and 10 offer 2 Pickaxe Abilities each, for a total of 6.
• They can all be unlocked on the tree at once, but only one can be selected at a time.
• They are activated with Right-Click, and have either an instant effect or a period of effect.
• They have a cooldown, which starts immediately upon activation, not at the point of the ability's conclusion.
  • The player must wait for the cooldown to expire before being able to use any other Pickaxe Ability.
  • The cooldown is preserved across lobbies, and set to zero when entering a  Glacite Mineshafts.
• They are at Level 1 by default, and are upgradeable to Level 3, once by the each of the following:
  • Level 2 of the Core of the Mountain perk;
  •  Blue Cheese Goblin Omelette applied as a Drill Module on a Drill.
• Their name is misleading as they can be used while holding a Mining Tool: a Drill, a Pickaxe or a  Gemstone Gauntlet.

• All formulae describe the cost to level up once, e.g. from level 10 to 11.
• The ${\displaystyle \lfloor x\rfloor }$ symbol means round down to the nearest integer.

• Increases  Mining Speed.

• When mining Ores or Dwarven Metals, a particle target appears on the block that increases your  Mining Speed by 30% when aiming at it.

• The first ore mined each day grants +500 Powder, multiplied by the player's Heart of the Mountain level.
• Heart of the Mountain Tier 10 would receive:

• Grants all mining tools the Tunnel Vision ability, activated with Right-Click.
• Increases the chances for the player to trigger the following rare occurences by ${\displaystyle x}$ % for 30 seconds:
