Recombobulator 3000

The Recombobulator 3000 is a LEGENDARY Dungeon item that can be used to upgrade the rarity of most items by one tier.

The Recombobulator 3000 can be obtained from Collection rewards obtained by killing any Dungeons boss 250 times.

Usage

The Recombobulator 3000 can be used in an Anvil to upgrade the rarity of any item, although it can only be used once on each item, thus only allowing for a single rarity increase. This is not counted as a Reforge. Reforges can be applied before or afterwards as normal, but still get boosted by the rarity upgrade.

It is not possible to recombobulate an already recombobulated item obtained through the Auto Recombobulator accessory, because when the Auto Recombobulator's effect comes into play, it will count as if a Recombobulator 3000 has been applied.

Increasing rarity using a Recombobulator 3000 on a rarity will have the following effect:

MYTHIC	DIVINE	The only items with an intentional base MYTHIC rarity are Divan's Drill, Cake Soul, David's Cloak, Scorched Books, Diamond Magmafish, Complete Century Cake Bundle, Plasma Bucket, a selection of MYTHIC pet upgrades, Dyes, and Rift items.
DIVINE	SPECIAL	The only item with a DIVINE base rarity is the Celestial Starstone. It can only be recombobulated using Centauri on AHN.^[1]
SPECIAL	VERY SPECIAL
VERY SPECIAL	VERY SPECIAL	There are no known items with a VERY SPECIAL base rarity.
ULTIMATE	VERY SPECIAL	This rarity is only used for cosmetics and these items cannot be recombobulated, except using Centauri on AHN.

Trivia

Items that have had a Recombobulator 3000 applied to them are said to have been Recombobulated.
Increasing the rarity of items increases the effect of Reforges and Gemstones applied to the item.
Pets and Pet Items cannot be Recombobulated, but most pets can have their rarity increased by Kat or by using the Tier Boost pet item. Some pets cannot have their rarity upgraded through traditional means.
- Despite this, using Centauri to Max Items in players inventory will lead to all items that cannot be Recombobulated to display the same effect as if they were, without changing the rarity.
The Recombobulator 3000, prior to the 0.18.5 patch, could be bought in Obsidian and Bedrock post-boss chests for only 5,000,000 Coins.
Applying a Recombobulator 3000 to an item for the first time gives you the Upgrades people, Upgrades! achievement.
- The name of this achievement is likely a reference to a Phineas T. Ratchet quote from the 2005 animated movie Robots.
If you recombobulate an item and then insert it into your sacks or sell it on the Bazaar, it will return to its original rarity, as those don't preserve NBT data.
