Private Island
The Private Island (also known as the Player's Island and Your Island) is where all players begin their SkyBlock adventure. Players can build and break blocks freely here, allowing them to customize the island to their liking. They can also place Minions to harvest resources. Except on ☀ Stranded mode, players can also place Portals to quickly travel to some Public Island locations. Many players use their island primarily for function, but some create interesting or useful islands for others to visit.
Initial Island State
[edit | edit source]When the player first creates their profile, they spawn on one of two floating islands in the Private Island. The first island consists of some grass, dirt, and stone with an oak tree on top. Players are told to do some simple tasks before making their way to the second island.
The second of the two islands contains the Hub Island Portal,
Jerry, a
Cobblestone Minion, and a small cave with a torch and a chest inside. The chest contains a
Lava Bucket, a
Water Bucket, 3
Bone Meal, 5
Dirt, 7
Grass and 8
Cobblestone. Presumably, the
Lava Bucket and
Water Bucket are for a cobblestone generator, which is particularly useful on ☀ Stranded mode.
Progression
[edit | edit source]Except on ☀ Stranded mode, after finishing the tasks for the first quest, the player is instructed to enter the portal on the second island to travel to the Hub Island. After entering the Hub Island portal for the first time, players are able to complete quests throughout the Hub and other locations. These locations allow the player to, among other things, level up Skills and Collections.
On ☀ Stranded mode, the player is restricted to the Private Island and The Garden for the entirety of the game. The player will obtain items and progress without accessing public islands. There are several changes to make parts of the game's content obtainable.
Mobs
[edit | edit source]After the first full night, mobs spawn naturally on the Private Island in areas where the light level is low enough. Mob spawning can be prevented in multiple ways:
- Using a
Repelling Candle prevents all mob spawns on the island. - Placing
torches or other light sources prevents monsters from spawning in areas with enough light. - Using a
Day Saver and
Weather Node on the island makes it permanently day and sunny, which makes the surface of the island constantly illuminated by the sun, so hostile mobs can't spawn.
[Lv] of the spawned mobs (except
Creeper) depends on the player's
Combat:
Visiting
[edit | edit source]Players can visit other players' Private Islands using the command /visit <player> or through
Christopher. Visiting other players' islands grants Social XP.
The maximum number of visitors on the player's own Private Island can be increased using the Guests Limit Profile Upgrade. The first upgrade is free, but subsequent upgrades require SkyBlock Gems. The Guests Limit before upgrades depends on the highest rank among the owners of the island, as shown in the table below.
| Rank | Guests Limit |
|---|---|
| Default | 1 |
| [VIP] and [VIP+] | 3 |
| [MVP] and [MVP+] | 5 |
| [MVP++] | 7 |
| [YOUTUBE] | 15 |
Managing
[edit | edit source]Spawn Location
[edit | edit source]Players can set their own spawn position by sleeping in a bed, or by using /spawnlocation, /setspawn, or /sethome. This location is separate from the location where Guests will spawn when they visit the island, which can be set using /guestlocation.
Kicking
[edit | edit source]When there are one or more Guests on a player's Private Island, the owner can use either /sbkickall to kick all Guests from their island or /sbkick <player> to kick a specific player. Kicking a player also temporarily bans them from the island.
Island Settings
[edit | edit source]The player can change settings for their Banking API and island visitor restrictions in the Island Settings menu, which can be accessed from the Settings page of the SkyBlock Menu. The player can allow visits from any combination of three options: Anyone, Friends, and Guild. The interface for the Island Settings menu is shown below.
Island Management
[edit | edit source]Like the Island Settings menu, the Island Management menu can be accessed from the Settings page of the SkyBlock Menu. In the Island Management menu, players can manage their island's categories, name, and ranks. The interface is shown below.
Restrictions
[edit | edit source]Island Size
[edit | edit source]The default island size is 161 blocks by 161 blocks, but it can be increased with the Island Size Profile Upgrade. Attempting to build outside these limits results in the message You can't build any further in this direction!. If the player travels vertically above Y:296, they are teleported back to their spawn location and receive the message Careful! You cannot travel too far away from the island!.
Redstone Restrictions
[edit | edit source]Since version 0.5, redstone has been allowed on Player Islands, with strict limitations. Each island has a Redstone Meter that appears on the scoreboard when a redstone component, such as a lever, is activated. When the meter reaches 100%, redstone on the island is disabled for 10 seconds. Pistons can be placed, but cannot be activated. Minecarts are disabled due to performance issues and duplication exploits.
Placeable Blocks Limit
[edit | edit source]Certain placeable blocks are limited to 1,000. Known blocks with this limit include
Chests and
Hoppers.
Blocks placed before the limit was introduced were not affected. If a player tries to place a block with it exceeding the limit, a message will show:
Certain special blocks have their own amount of placeable limit:
Beacon - Maximum of 1
Egg Hunt - Maximum of 10
Teleport Pad - Maximum of 56
Non-block Placeable Limit
[edit | edit source]The player can place Furniture in their island up to 15.
