[edit | edit source]Gemstones come in 12 varieties: 
Ruby, 
Amber, 
Sapphire, 
Jade, 
Amethyst, 
Topaz, 
Jasper,

Citrine and 
Peridot.
Each Gemstone has 5 tiers, listed from lowest to highest: Rough, Flawed, Fine, Flawless and Perfect. Each tier is crafted from 80 of the previous, with the exception Perfect Gemstones, which are forged with 5 Flawless Gemstones and their respective Gemstone Crystal.

Gemstones can be mined all around the Crystal Hollows, they can also be found in Smoldering Tomb, Glacite Tunnels and Glacite Mineshafts.
Mining Gemstones will drop 3-5 of the Rough tier by default. Pristine grants a chance to replace the Rough Gemstone drops with Flawed Gemstones.
Treasure Chests
[edit | edit source]Gemstones of Rough, Flawed and Fine qualities can be found in Treasure Chests, except for Opal Gemstones. A Treasure Chest can spawn in random structures or has a chance to appear when mining 
Hard Stone in the Crystal Hollows. The possible Gemstone types depends on the location of the Treasure Chest. Additionally, Treasure Chests, which have a different loot table, can be found using a 
Metal Detector in the Mines of Divan.

Crystal Nucleus
[edit | edit source]Crystal Nucleus loot bundle drops 1 Fine Gemstone of each type when completed. It can also drop additional Flawed, Fine and Flawless Gemstones of any kind.
Frozen Corpses
[edit | edit source]Frozen Corpses can be found in Glacite Mineshafts and can be looted for a variety of rewards, including Gemstones.
Fossil Excavator
[edit | edit source]Gemstones can be found while excavating 
Suspicious Scraps in the Fossil Excavator.
Other

Odawa sells 1 Rough Amethyst Gemstone for 
1 Sludge Juice.
Throwing the 
Eternal Flame Ring into the correct lava pool yields 64 Rough Topaz Gemstone.

[edit | edit source]Certain items have Gemstone Slots, where a corresponding gemstone can be applied. Some are already unlocked, and others require Coins and a Gemstone to be unlocked. The Gemstone applied gives varying stat bonuses depending on its tier.

[edit | edit source]- Gemstones are the only Collection items which have 5 tiers (Rough, Flawed, Fine, Flawless and Perfect).
- The only way to instantly mine Gemstones is with any tool that can break them and Armadillo Pet's Tunneller ability.
- All Gemstones in the Crystal Hollows take 5 minutes to regenerate.
