Ice

Ice is a COMMON block in the  Mining collection. It can be obtained in a number of ways, such as being bought from the Builder Merchant, or from  Jerry's Workshop.

Collecting ice increases the player's ice collection, which grants useful items and perks upon collecting certain amounts of ice.

Ice can be mined with a Pickaxe, Drill, or Axe enchanted with Silk Touch I. Mining Ice grants +0.5  Mining experience.

Ice cannot be mined on any of the public islands, except for  Jerry's Workshop, found at the  Jerry Pond,  Sunken Jerry Pond,  Reflective Pond, or  Glacial Cave. Within the  Glacial Cave, there is Frozen Treasure, which can grant other forms of ice.

On a  Private Island, players can use the  Taiga Biome Stick to create a Taiga biome and wait for the water to turn into ice, although this is quite slow.

Ice can be obtained from  Ice Minions.

Fishing with the  Icy Sinker applied grants  1 Ice when catching a Sea Creature or item.

• Frost Walker-enchanted boots used to count towards the ice collection, but this was removed after an unknown update.
  • While ice generated from Frost Walker does not count towards the collection and does not grant  Mining experience, it does count towards and can activate the Compact enchantment to produce  Enchanted Ice.
• The player can purchase  40 Enchanted Ice from the Builder each day.
• The ice required to make all special crafts amounts to 26,786,897. That's the total for all 12 tiers of the Ice Minion,  Ice Bait,  Magical Water Bucket,  Glacial Scythe,  Frozen Blaze Armor,  Auger Rod,  Yeti Sword, and  Glacial Artifact.
