The Potato Talisman is a COMMON Accessory made to commemorate the Great Potato War.

Obtaining

The Potato Talisman has a 0.05% (1 in 2071 pigs) to drop from Shiny Pigs during the Year of the Pig. The chance is increased to 0.07% (1 in 1381.66 pigs) with Pig Brain Mixin active.

Every player was able to claim a Potato Talisman from the Potato King near the Map from June 21, 2020 - June 26, 2020. It could also be a rare drop from Shiny Pigs during SkyBlock Anniversary events, with a drop chance of 0.02%.

Usage

The Potato Talisman grants +1 Speed. If the player has it in their inventory or Accessory Bag, and is on their private island, it increases the speed of all Potato Minions on the island, by 5%.

Trivia

This item heavily references "Technoblade", a Minecraft YouTuber who was the first player to reach 500 million Potatoes in their collection.
- Technoblade's journey to 500 million was a hard-won fight against player-turned-YouTuber "im_a_squid_kid". This became an event in the SkyBlock YouTube community, known as the "Great Potato War," which lasted over nine months. im_a_squid_kid's count at the time of Technoblade's surpassing him was around 412 million.
  - Simon (Hypixel's founder) himself even chimed in on Twitter^{^[1]}, originally suggesting the war end at one billion (1,000,000,000) potatoes farmed. This was used as a catalyst for Technoblade and im_a_squid_kid to agree on a final count, settling at the 500 million mark.
- The Potato King, who granted this talisman its skin, was Technoblade. It is his skin, with a Potato on his head.
- The +1 Speed may be in reference to the Pig's Foot, which was added before the Great Potato War when Technoblade won a tournament called "Minecraft Monday," which was given its stats thanks to Technoblade's focus on Speed in his early SkyBlock videos.
Like the Crab Hat of Celebration, Sloth Hat of Celebration, and every unique New Year Cake, the Potato Talisman could only be claimed once per profile.
Immediately after this update, the Potato Talisman could be placed on Private Islands. This was swiftly patched, although some players who had already placed the talisman did not have the blocks removed, so some instances may still remain.
