A Sea Witch can be caught on the Hub Island and most other non-fishing islands. It requires  Fishing VII (7) or higher to be caught.

The base Weight for a Sea Witch is 700, resulting in a default catch chance of 16.29% (1 in 6.14 sea creatures) with all Sea Creatures unlocked. Currently there are no modifiers that can be used to increase it.

The Sea Witch will attempt to throw Splash Potion of Harming at the player at a highly accelerated rate compared to witches spawned on the player's island.

• The Sea Witch is a Mob that used to be very similar to the Night Squid in the fact that it only spawns while Fishing at a certain time of day while using a certain kind of Bait.
• The bait and time requirements have been removed as of the 0.9 update.
• The  Sea Witch Shard can be obtained by using a Lasso.
