Fishing Hotspots

Fishing Hotspots, or Hotspots, are a  Fishing related mechanic that appear on certain Public Islands. Hotspots appear as rings in various locations and grant perks to player who fish in them.

Hotspots begin spawning on certain Public Islands after speaking to Hattie in the  Backwater Bayou.

Certain Public Island contain a set number of Hotspots. Each Hotspot last for about 4 minutes before moving. Each island has a certain number of Hotspots at once. Hotspots appear in  Water on most islands and in  Lava on the  Crimson Isle.

Fishing in a Hotspot grants the player one of the following stats:

• +15  Fishing Speed
• +5  Sea Creature Chance
• +2  Double Hook Chance
• +5  Trophy Chance
• +1  Treasure Chance

These stats are doubled when using  Hotspot Sinker on the fishing rod.

Additionally, Hotspots allow certain Sea Creatures to be caught:

Hotspot Sea Creatures have a base chance of 15% (1 in 6.67) to replace a regular Sea Creature catch. The chances can be increased through certain sources:

MYTHIC Hermit Crab Pet	+20%

Combined, these sources can increase the chance to catch Hotspot Sea Creatures to 85%.

One of the Hotspots in  Torrhus Canyon is always located in the  Hotspot Haven located inside the  Torrhus Springs, which grants a chance to fish a  Giant Water Bug Shard instead of granting a stat, the shard is affected by  Hunting Fortune.
