A Hivethief is a ︎ Critter that can be spawned by applying Honey to Helix Trees on the  Torrhus Canyon.

A Hivethief has a 16.6% (1 in 6) chance to spawn after applying a  Fun-Sized,  Family-Sized,  Jumbo, or  Behemoth Pot of Honeycomb to a Helix Tree with a Tree Protection Order.

A Hivethief will slowly fly around by default. It cannot be damaged by regular sources. When attached to a player's Lasso, it will start quickly flying upwards, dragging the player upwards with them. Keeping the Lasso attached to it long enough will capture the Hivethief.
