Puff

A Puff is a Mob that spawns on  The Mountaintop. It appears as a floating head.

Spawning

Puffs are passive and have a chance to be spawned by player movement while on  The Mountaintop. The spawn chance increases the higher the player goes^[Confirm]. The Gravity I Splash Potion bought from the Vending Machine increases the spawn rate of Puffs around the player.

Puffs spawn one block above a moving player's head then proceed to rise another 5 blocks over the course of a few seconds. It then hovers at that height (~8 blocks above ground level) for the remainder of its lifetime. Puffs can hover higher than 8 blocks depending on the player's position when it spawned, such as when jumping. From the moment a Puff spawns, it will remain for ~100 seconds before despawning, making a soft 'pop' sound when it does.

Behavior

Puffs do not attack the player. Nearby Puffs will connect with others indicated by blue particles between them. Killing a Puff will cause connected Puffs to die in a chain reaction, increasing the drop rate of Puff Cruxes. Puffs can also be damaged with a Berberis Blowgun.

Drops

The drop rate of Puff Crux is increased by 10% every time a linked Puff dies, up to 100%. Puff Crux drops are also boosted by the Crux Talisman and its upgrades.

Trivia

Popping a link of 10 Puffs will reward the player with the "Zoop!" Achievement.
Unlike other crux mobs, a Puff remains passive when damaged by a player.
