Candidate Aura

Candidate Aura was significantly altered or removed after January 19, 2026. This article is retained for historical purposes.

Candidate Aura was a mayoral candidate that served between the Year 458 and 468 Mayor Elections.

Mayoral Perks

Most mayors run with up to four unique perks, but Candidate Aura has only been seen with three perks and a note: "*few extra details not worth mentioning."

Candidate Aura may run for election with up to 6 possible perks.

Fundraising: Taxes and Costs vastly increased across the world.
Minion Union: Minions work +50% slower.
Universal Income: Every hour, 100% of the Coins gained from Fundraising are redistributed equally.
Work Better: Everyone is now luckier!
Work Harder: Monsters deal 10% more damage and have 10% more health.
Work Smarter: Gain +50% Skill EXP, Dungeon EXP and Slayer EXP

Fundraising

While Mayor Aura's Fundraising perk was active, several additional costs were incurred:

Sending any message costs 7 Coins each time (also applies in Stranded).
Using Fast Travel costs 2,000 Coins each time (except for the Hub, Private Island, and Garden).
Bazaar tax and Slayer spawn costs are doubled.
Upgrading pets at Kat costs 50% more Coins.
Certain Dungeon drops have increased cost.

Minion Union

This perk actually reduced minion speed by 33% (Additive).

This perk was disabled by minister 7[YOUTUBE] im_a_squid_kid.

Universal Income

This perk states that 100% of coins gathered via Fundraising are redistributed equally when in reality it is dictated by this formula:

This perk granted +50 Magic Find and +25 Tracking globally (except in the Rift). All RNG Meter progress was doubled, and the base drop rate of several items from the Crystal Nucleus and Dungeons were increased. Items affected included:

Work Harder

This perk increased the Health and Damage of mobs by 10%.

This perk was re-enabled by minister 2[VIP] Aura_Stay after being disabled by minister 5[MVP+] Confused_Goon.

Work Smarter

This perk increased all Skill, Dungeon, and Slayer XP by +50%.

This perk was re-enabled by minister 7[YOUTUBE] ALAND_ after being disabled by minister 6[MVP++] SnowflakeKiwi.

Ministers

Each year, Candidate Aura held a minister election from Late Spring 30th to Winter 7th, where the SkyBlock community elected their fellow players. Those with the top 7 votes were elected as ministers and got to choose their perks. Ministers who place on the podium, as well as ministers who attempt to remove Aura's perks, cannot be voted for in subsequent elections.

Trivia

Candidate Aura's actual perks were revealed through the SkyBlock API prior to them being elected.^[1]^[2]
- Tablist also shows Aura as having 6 perks.
The dialogue starts from a random point, but is otherwise always in the same order.
Candidate Aura has broken the record for most votes received by a candidate in SkyBlock's history, reaching over 1.5m votes on November 28th, 2025.^[3]^[4]
Upon initial release, the Work Smarter perk was also granting +50 Magic Find in the Rift.
Some candidates were removed after gaining an unfair advantage.
- 5[MVP+] hannibal2 is the creator of the SkyHanni mod.^[5] He was blacklisted from the elections due to hannibal2's name being automatically filled in on behalf of the user, assuming they had not edited their vote.^[6]
- 5[MVP+] duoplurk was blacklisted after a Coins giveaway was hosted to bribe votes.
Using /killaura command when Aura isn't mayor returns Aura is not mayor..
