A Grizzly Bear is a Mob on the  Torrhus Canyon.

A Grizzly Bear has a 1% chance to spawn when breaking a tree in the Torrhus Canyon.

Grizzly Bears attempt to charge at the Player trying to lasso it, breaking free from the lasso if they damage the Player with the message: The Grizzly Bear broke free from your lasso!

After the player depletes the Grizzly Bear's stamina, the Grizzly Bear will break free from the lasso with the message: The Grizzly Bear destroyed your Lasso! Guess you'll have to fight it!

The Player must then damage the Grizzly Bear with an axe until it is almost defeated, then finish hunting it with a Black Hole. The Grizzly Bear cannot be killed by an axe and will remain at 1  Health. However, it takes fall damage and can thus die without rewarding shards, such as by being knocked off of a platform or falling from one during a charge.

Catching a Grizzly Bear with a Lasso grants  Grizzly Bear Shard and +1,000  Hunting XP. The amount of Attribute Shards dropped is affected by  Hunting Fortune.

• The Grizzly Bear charges when each bar of its health is depleted, at about the same time as the game says "REEL".
  • A well-timed jump can thus cause the Grizzly Bear to miss its charge and remain on the lasso.
• It is recommended to get to some sort of high ground inaccessible to the Grizzly Bear in order to lasso it, if not being aided by other players.
  • When this is done, the Grizzly Bear may erratically charge side to side, so the player should prepare to follow its movement well enough to avoid the lasso breaking.
