Changelog/2026/July 10
Hello all!
Today on the Alpha Network we have, for you, two brand-new islands. Before you begin with your testing please be sure to read through the thread as, aside from providing you with the necessary details for informed testing, we also have a list of focus questions that we are would like your feedback on.
► Torrhus Canyon
[edit | edit source]
Torrhus Canyon is the second Foraging Island comprising the region known as Galatea. Accessible from a launch pad in the Moonglade Marsh upon reaching Heart of the Forest 4, there is much to do and see here!
Upon entering the island for the first time, look for Helia just down Torrhus Path. She will introduce you to the Torrhus Chapters before directing you to Miria - the second Starlyn sister and host of this island's Starlyn Contests!
Upon talking to Miria, continue on and use Helia's "Torrhus Chapters" to inform your exploration.
➥ SkyBlock OST
[edit | edit source]While exploring Torrhus Canyon you'll get to hear the gorgeous soundtrack for the island composed by Oscar Garvin (you may know him as the composer for Hytale). He has also composed other songs that have been added for the Hub, the Garden, and the Moonglade Marsh. These are not note block songs, the recently added SkyBlock Resource Pack has allowed us to add fully orchestral songs to SkyBlock!
- Make sure you have SkyBlock Music enabled in your SkyBlock Settings and to turn your Jukebox/Note Blocks volume up so that you can hear the OST!
➥ A Note on Textures
[edit | edit source]In an attempt to gather as much public feedback as possible - given that we have not one, but two islands to test - we have opened the Alpha Network a bit earlier than usual.
As a result, you may find that some of Torrhus Canyon's items and icons are currently using placeholder assets. Don't fret - these placeholders will be replaced with their final textures in due course - but, for the time being, please don't file any bug reports on the matter. Thanks!
► Safari Zone
[edit | edit source]
The Safari Zone is a dedicated Hunting Island consisting of four biomes - Icy, Forest, Canyon, and...Haunted? Accessible via the Safari Zone Entrance on Torrhus Canyon - so long as you have a ticket - the Safari is home to almost 40 unique critter species that cannot be found anywhere else in SkyBlock.
To get a ticket to enter the Safari, you'll need to perform in Miria's Contests.
- UNCOMMON Bracket ➜ 1x Basic Safari Ticket
- RARE Bracket ➜ 1x Economy Safari Ticket
- EPIC Bracket ➜ 1x Premium Safari Ticket
- LEGENDARY Bracket+ ➜ 1x First-Class Safari Ticket
A vanilla experience, while in the Safari Zone all of your stats are reset to the default and you'll be armed with nothing but a handful of Critter Capsules. Explore the various biomes, catching Critters, finding secrets, and collecting items as you go. Please note that you can enter the Safari alone or with up to 3 friends - simply use /party (but note that you will each need a ticket of your own to enter). Please also note that some critters do not spawn naturally - you will need to use your wits and the items you found strewn about to uncover the secrets of the Safari Zone.
► Questions for Testers
[edit | edit source]Please have a read of these questions before you begin your testing session and keep them in mind as you go about your playthrough, which should be informed through the Helia NPC by the entrance to the island and her "Torrhus Chapters" system.
➥ Torrhus Canyon
[edit | edit source]- When cutting them using the correct technique, how did you feel about the strength of Helix Trees?
- How does Tree density feel across the island? Too few, too many?
- When it comes to cutting Trees, how does the pathing compare to the Moonglade Marsh?
- How far into the Torrhus Chapters did you get? Did any particular task feel too early/hard for its Chapter?
- Miria's Contests. How did you find them and their point gain compared to the Moonglade Marsh?
- What did you think of the 3 new Collections?
- There are 32 mob species in Torrhus Canyon. How many of them did you encounter? Which ones did you like most?
- Designer Note: Some Torrhus Canyon & Safari Zone Bestiaries are a bit inaccurate right now, needing a lot more kills than intended (e.g Beeheemoth, Grizzly Bear). Please give us some time to fix the brackets!
➥ Torrhus Springs
[edit | edit source]- How deep into Torrhus Springs could you get in a single dive? What was your Respiration & Pressure Resistance?
- How easy was it to reach the bottom when you used the higher-up rooms to break and refill your Respiration etc.?
- What did you think of the Torrhus Sea Creatures?
- What did you think of the various rooms underneath the springs (you have to dive down and swim to them)?
- Did you reach the Temple? If so, how far did you get with the two puzzles?
➥ Safari Zone
[edit | edit source]- There are 37 Critter species in the Critterdex. How many did you find on your first visit? (Use /critterdex or /be to check)
- Following on from Q1, how many players did you play alongside in that session?
- How did you feel about the Floor Drop system?
- If you played in a group, how did you feel about the Lootshare system? Is it too strong compared to solo play?
- Did you encounter any Bosses? If so, how did you feel about them?
- What did you think of the Safari Essence Shop? Did it feel like anything was missing? Too cheap/expensive?
- Any opinions on the Safari Milestones (found above the Safari Zone Entrance in Torrhus Canyon)?
Thanks in advance to everyone who answers the focus questions listed above. To reiterate, this will be an extended period of Alpha Testing, as was the case with the Lotus Atoll, so take your time.
And that's all we have for you today! We hope you have a great time testing - please remember to report any bugs you encounter HERE, being sure to select "alpha.hypixel.net".
