Heart of the Forest
[edit | edit source]The
Heart of the Forest is a Skill Tree that grants various perks related to
Foraging and
Hunting that is unlocked by speaking to
Hina at Tangleburg's Path. One can obtain
HotF EXP through Tree Gifts and Agatha Contests, and leveling up the Heart of the Forest or its Center of the Forest perk grants Tokens of the Forest.
Foraging Mechanics
[edit | edit source]The Moonglade Marsh contains Fig Trees and Mangrove Trees, which grant
Fig Logs and
Mangrove Logs respectively. These trees have Toughness which controls how much Sweep is required to cut them down. Having more Sweep allows the player to cut these trees down faster.
These trees also have unique styles, which dictate the order in which they must be cut down Failing to cut down a tree in the correct order results in a 50% Sweep reduction.
Some Fig and Mangrove Trees have Tree Protection Orders on them. These trees cannot be broken. Instead, the player can right-click them with
Fun-Sized,
Family-Sized,
Jumbo, or
Behemoth Pot of Honeycomb. After waiting for a period of time based on the pot used, a random creature will spawn by the tree, depending on the type of tree.
| Render | Tree | Location | Toughness | Style | Tree Protection Order Mobs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fig Tree | Upper area of the Moonglade Marsh | 10 Toughness | Trunk → Branches | ||
| Mangrove Tree | Murkwater Loch | 50 Toughness | Branches → Trunk → Roots |
Fully chopping down a tree rewards the players who helped chop it down with a Tree Gift. The quantity of guaranteed rewards and chance for rare rewards scales based on the amount a player contributes to chopping down a tree, as well as the tree's size.
| Percent Cut | Rewards |
