End Stone Protector

The End Stone Protector is a BOSS that spawns in several locations in the Dragon's Nest after 5,000 Zealots are killed in its server.

Spawning

The End Stone Protector spawns in a number of predetermined locations in the Dragon's Nest. 5,000 Zealots must be killed in order to summon the boss. For every 1,000 Zealots killed, "You feel a tremor from beneath the earth!" will appear in chat, and the boss's body will rise further out of the ground. When 5,000 kills are reached, the message "The ground begins to shake as an End Stone Protector rises from below!" will be displayed, and the boss will spawn 20 seconds afterwards.

The End Stone Protector will always spawn behind the End Stone statue.

If one enabled the stages widget in the tab menu, they can see the phase of the boss.

Resting - Phase 0
Dormant - Phase 1
Agitated - Phase 2
Disturbed - Phase 3
Awakening - Phase 4
Summoned - Phase 5

Drops

The drops a player receives from killing an End Stone Protector are calculated based on their loot Quality, which is calculated with this formula: $Quality = BaseQuality + ZealotsKilled + 50 \cdot \frac{PlayerDamageDealt}{FirstPlaceDamageDealt}$
Up to 100 killed Zealots will contribute to the player's Quality.

Base Quality is determined by the damage placement of the player:

Certain items can be dropped from the End Stone Protector if the player has enough Quality.

If one of the unique items is dropped the player's total Quality is decreased with this formula: $Q u a l i t y = Q u a l i t y - D r o p Q u a l i t y$

Only one player per boss can roll each unique item, meaning if multiple players get the same unique item, only one receives it.

Pearlescent Dye is rolled separately and does not use the weight system.

Behavior

The End Stone Protector attacks the nearest player and rapidly swings its arms, tossing the player into the air and dealing damage. It is only capable of targeting one player at a time, so while one player is getting attacked all of the others are killing the Golem.

The End Stone Protector also has two abilities. Every 10 seconds It tosses all nearby grounded players into the air, dealing True Damage; this attack can be avoided by jumping into the air before the attack is cast. It also can cause iron blocks to crash into nearby players, dealing damage, unlike the Toss, this one occurs randomly.

Upon dying, it replaces the ground beneath it with iron blocks, and a beacon signals its location. Its drops spawn within the iron blocks for collection. Occasionally, it will implode on death, dealing damage to nearby players.

Bugs

The End Stone Protector Shard only drops if the player gets at least 100 Zealot kills and does not deal any damage to the boss.

Trivia

Killing the End Stone Protector will reward the player with the "Smell like roses" Achievement.
When update 0.7.8 released, killing the boss did not drop anything. Within a few hours the bug was patched.
In the original loot table, Poppies as a drop were later replaced with End Stone Roses and Enchanted Iron Ingot was removed from the loot table.
Players can still get End Stone Roses and Enchanted End Stone without actually hitting the End Stone Protector once.
Originally, the End Stone Protector spawned instantly when the players were alerted by "The End Stone Protector is spawning", but this was later changed to allow players time to prepare for the bossfight.
The End Stone Protector is normally immune to knockback, however, Necromancy mobs deal knockback to the boss.
Despite being in an entirely separate zone, killing Zealot Bruisers contribute to spawning the End Stone Protector.
In the patch notes that introduced End Stone Protector, the enemy was called a mini-boss.
