True Damage behaves almost identically to regular Damage, except it is unaffected by Defense or any status effects (such as Fire Resistance). Upon taking True Damage, the player's Defense is momentarily set to their True Defense. True Damage is a vanilla Minecraft mechanic which is expanded upon in SkyBlock. It is similar to Magic Damage in vanilla Minecraft. The only way to decrease damage from it is True Defense, though some choose to use massive amounts of Health to combat it instead.

Very few things in the game utilize True Damage, with the most well known ones being the following:

There is currently only one known way for a player to deal True Damage: through the Spider Queen's Stinger Spider Queen's Stinger, an EPIC Bow.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • True Damage is generally used to prevent players from using very tanky gear against mobs and tank their attacks with ease. Therefore, strong bosses often deal high amounts of True Damage. The strongest bosses of different  Combat aspects either deal comparably high Damage, or a lot of True Damage.
    • Mastiff Crown.png Mastiff Armor or Sorrow Helmet.png Sorrow Armor can be viable against these mobs, however neither of these are dungeonizable, making them unviable against most sources of it in dungeons.
  • Master Mode Storm deals 999,999,999 True Damage during his Giga Lightning.
