Gemstone Slot

Gemstone Slots appear on items that are upgradable with Gemstones. One Gemstone can be applied to each Gemstone Slot. A stat bonus will be granted according to the Gemstone applied.

Gemstone Slot types determine what types of Gemstones can be applied. The Stat Bonuses given by a Gemstone Slot are not determined by the slot type, but the Gemstone applied to it.

Ordinary Gemstone Slots only allow for the corresponding Gemstone to be applied.

Chisel Gemstone Slots allow for certain types of Gemstones to be applied to Chisels, which grant perks when used in the Fossil Excavator.

Unlike with all other items, the potency of Gemstones is only affected by their tier, and not by rarity of the Chisel.

Applying the same Gemstone multiple times to the same chisel increases the chance for it to trigger additively, for example applying  3 Flawless Aquamarine Gemstones will grant 180% chance to gain extra Charges, or 100% chance to gain +1 and 80% to gain +2 instead. It does NOT grant 60% chance to get +3 Charges nor does it rolls the 60% chance 3 times.

1. The Icon Symbol shows the Gemstone Slot Type (see "Symbol" on the Slot Type table above)
2. The Icon Color shows the type of the applied Gemstone (see table below)
3. The Bracket Color shows the tier of the applied Gemstone (see table below)

When applied, different gemstones provide different stat bonuses to the item based on the Gemstone type, Gemstone quality, and the item rarity:

Note: When applied to a  Talisman of Power accessory line or the  Shimmersparkle Chestplate the granted stats are halved.

Gemstones can be applied to selected items at the gemstone grinder located near Geo. The Cost to Unlock (if any) must be paid in order to unlock the slot and apply the gemstone. The apply process is otherwise free of charge.

The applied gemstone can each be separately removed from any items at the gemstone grinder located near Geo. There is a confirmation menu to prevent accidentally removing them.

• If an item with gemstone slots was created before the update on Sep 13th 2021, all slots are unlocked by default.
