Glacite Mineshafts are instanced locations that can be accessed by mining in the  Glacite Tunnels.

Glacite Mineshafts can be accessed by breaking blocks in the  Glacite Tunnels. The base chance of spawning a Glacite Mineshaft is 0.05% (1 in 2000): this chance can be increased with the Surveryor perk in the Heart of the Mountain at Tier 8.

Glacite Mineshafts are covered by Pity:

• The counter starts from 2,000, decreasing according to the Block Quality of the block mined. Once the counter reaches 0, the next block is guaranteed to spawn a Glacite Mineshaft portal.
• If a block is mined from  Mining Spread or Pickobolus, its Block Quality is halved.
  • For example, if a player with 300  Mining Spread mines a Glacite block, 3 nearby ones will be indirectly mined.
    In total, he counter decreases by 10: once by 4 and thrice by 2.
• The counter determines the chance of a Glacite Mineshaft portal spawning on the next block mined: it is the inverse of the counter.
• However, on the tab list and in the Pity menu, the counter appears as starting from 0, increasing to 2000 in contrary to the mechanics initially explained on its introduction^[1]
  • For example, if the in-game Pity counter appears at 859, the actual value is 2000-859=1141. Thus, the probability of spawning a Glacite Mineshaft portal on the next block is 0,088% (1 in 1141).
  • For example, if the in-game Pity counter appears at 1995, the actual value is 2000-1995=5. Thus, the probability of spawning a Glacite Mineshaft portal on the next block is 20% (1 in 5).

Each Glacite Mineshaft corresponds to a specific resource (e.g.  Umber,  Tungsten,  Ruby, etc), with some containing their respective resource's Gemstone Crystal. Most blocks inside Glacite Mineshafts can be broken, similar to the  Crystal Hollows.

Upon opening a Glacite Mineshaft, a portal will spawn, alongside the following dialogue:

Players have 30s to enter a Glacite Mineshaft before it closes, if the player has entered a Glacite Mineshaft within the past 30s, they are prevented from joining the current instance and immediately despawn. Additionally, the player's pity does not increase for 1 minute, if they're in the same Dwarven Mines lobby as before entering the Mineshaft.

The base chance for each mineshaft type to spawn is 5.88% (1 in 17 mineshafts). If the final block mined that leads to a mineshaft spawning matches one of the mineshaft types, it raises the chance for that mineshaft type to spawn to 33.33% (1 in 3 mineshafts), and lowers the chance for others to 4.17% (1 in 24 mineshafts).

If a gemstone mineshaft that is eligible for a crystal is chosen, there is a 25% (1 in 4) chance to get the crystal variant. This can be increased by +0.5% per level using the Crystalline Heart of the Mountain perk, up to +25.5% at level 51 (with  Blue Cheese Goblin Omelette). If a crystal variant does not spawn, the non-crystal variants have an equal chance to spawn. The _2 variants generally have the biggest veins, followed by _1, and finally _C.

The Vanguard Seeker perk increases the weight of the Fairy mineshaft by +1% per level, up to +51% at level 51 (with  Blue Cheese Goblin Omelette) – bringing the chance to 8.62% (1 in 11.6 mineshafts), and the chance for other mineshafts to 5.71% (1 in 17.51 mineshafts). If an eligible block is mined, the chance for a matching mineshaft is 33.33% (1 in 3 mineshafts), then the chance for a Fairy mineshaft is 4.38% (1 in 22.84 mineshafts), and the chance for other mineshafts is 3.81% (1 in 26.26 mineshafts) each.

A Glacite Mineshaft has a chance of activating a random mining event. This event lasts until all players have evacuated the mineshaft. The possible events are the following:

• 2x Powder
• Better Together
• Fortunate Freezing
• Gone with the Wind

Frozen Corpses can spawn in any Glacite Mineshaft. Depending on the size, 1-3 corpses will spawn: an additional Frozen Corpse can spawn in with Dead Man's Chest (+0.5-25%) and Frozen Corpse Milestones 2 and 5 (+10-20%), raising the maximum number of corpses up to 4.

Rarely a mineshaft may contain a Gemstone Crystal which is used to forge Perfect Gemstones, it can be one of the following:  Ruby Crystal,  Jasper Crystal,  Opal Crystal,  Onyx Crystal,  Aquamarine Crystal,  Citrine Crystal or  Peridot Crystal. Only the shaft's owner can collect the crystal.

Leaving a Glacite Mineshaft either through its entrance or with the  Ascension Rope grants additional  Glacite Powder.

Clicking on the floating text at the Entrance will show a list of these bonuses.

• If the player dies while in a Mineshaft through any means such as Cold or mobs, they return to the Dwarven Base Camp and are unable to get back in.
• The easiest way to get out of a Mineshaft is by using an Ascension Rope.
• Most teleportation and movement abilities are disabled in Glacite Mineshafts, though the  Grappling Hook,  Leaping Sword, and  Silk-Edge Sword functions normally.
