Mines of Divan

The Mines of Divan is a location in the  Crystal Hollows, more specifically the  Mithril Deposits, where the Jade Crystal can be obtained. Claiming the crystal requires a Scavenged Emerald Hammer, Scavenged Diamond Axe, Scavenged Lapis Sword, and a Scavenged Golden Hammer. Because these items are Quest items, they aren't able to be traded. Using a Wishing Compass in the  Mithril Deposits before obtaining a Jade Crystal points to the Mines of Divan.

Tasks

When the player first enters  Mines of Divan, they will be greeted with the following message:

■ Fear entering the mines.

■ The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep.

■ Treasures piled high, who knows what lies beneath.

Purpose

Talking to any Keeper gives the player a Metal Detector. While holding the Metal Detector, the player's distance from the treasure is shown, as well as increasingly louder/higher pitched beeps when nearing treasure. The treasure chest can contain certain items, including a Scavenged Item. The Jade Crystal will appear in the center after delivering each Scavenged Item to their respective keepers. As you won't get Scavenged Items you already have in your inventory, you need to find 22.22 treasures on average to get one Crystal.

The treasure chest can reward either one of four Scavenged Items (18%), Mithril Powder (8%), Gemstone Powder (6%), (4x, 8x, 16x, 32x or 64x) Rough Gemstones (68%), and a rare chance of obtaining a Pickonimbus 2000 (0.06%) or 2x Fine Gemstones (0.01%).

Trivia

It is also possible to mine the various valuable blocks (Pure Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Redstone) within the Mines for resources, and is a good way to get Mining XP.
- Coal blocks can also be found on the edges, however they do not give Mining XP and higher blocks are hard to reach, therefore it is generally not recommended to mine coal there.
- Wearing Mineral Armor is the most effective way to clear out the gold blocks.
Occasionally, the structure generation inside the Mines of Divan will stop certain Keepers from spawning, and thus the crystal cannot be obtained.
- This seems to mainly happen to the Keeper of Gold.
- This bug has existed since at least September 2021.^[1]
"The dwarves delved too greedily and too deep." is a reference to Saruman from The Lord of the Rings describing a creature the dwarves awoke in the depths of Khazad-dûm.
This structure contains a massive amount of Jade Gemstone ores, mostly full blocks rather than panes, which makes it an ideal place to collect Jades and make coins.
