Effects
Ability: Creeper Veil RIGHT CLICK Spawns a layered veil that negates damage for 10s, as follows: ➤ Lose a layer on hit, consuming 30 and block up to 1000 damage. ➤ The damage blocked scales with your Dungeon Stat Boost while in The Catacombs. ➤ When the damage exceeds a layer's limit, another layer is consumed, until all damage is accounted for. ➤ When you run out of Vitality, consume all Vitality and take slight knockback. You cannot attack or regenerate Vitality while the veil is up. RIGHT CLICK while active to deactivate. Cooldown is halved on deactivation. Vitality Cost: 30 Cooldown: 10s

The Wither Cloak Sword, being a sword, can be used as a melee weapon. Its Creeper Veil ability can be toggled upon right-click: it has a 10s cooldown between activations, which is halved upon manually toggling the ability off.

The Creeper Veil ability summons 6 invisible Charged Creepers, which last for the duration of the ability. Should the player not have enough Vitality to absorb another hit, the veil will automatically toggle off.

Tips

The Wither Cloak Sword works well when paired with the Soulflow Supercell or its predecessors, as the Creeper Veil ability forces the player to leave combat, allowing the accessory to increment Overflow Mana.
The Wither Cloak Swords ability can be paired with the Hurricane Bow to kill Bal much faster.

Trivia

The Creeper Veil ability would previously persist even when the item was removed from the player's inventory. This has since been patched.
The Creeper Veil ability previously dealt 200 damage to enemies that hit the entities spawned from the ability.
The Wither Cloak Sword can bypass damage from the Boomer Undead's TNT and Kalhuiki Tribe Members' fatal attacks.
The Wither Cloak Sword seems to be the scroll used by Necron within the journal entry The Apprentice - Part 2.
