Usage

The Bonemerang, unlike other bows, acts like a boomerang as its name suggests. Upon using the Bonemerang, it travels forward up to 13.5 blocks before reaching the apex of its journey and returning: it deals the wielder's ranged damage to mobs in its path, and deals double damage when returning.

If the Bonemerang comes into contact with a block or strikes more than 10 enemies while traveling, it will shatter and become unusable for 3 seconds: a Ghast Tear takes its place in the inventory. Other Bonemerangs can still be used when one is on cooldown.

Upgrading

The Bonemerang can be converted into a  Bonemerang using 8 Thorn Fragments to buff its stats. Upgrading grants:

+50 Damage
+20 Strength

Tips

Throwing a Bonemerang at Thorn stuns him for 3-5 seconds, making it easier to shoot him with the Spirit Bow.
- If Thorn is stunned, he will increase in speed after the stun period, making it very hard to shoot them. This is likely because Thorn is designed in his AI to be faster every time damaged to dodge players' shots.

Trivia

The Bonemerang is a reference to Marowak's signature move in Pokémon.
Players could swap the Bonemerang with a Death Bow and Edible Mace to deal millions of damage prior to the update that fixed sword-swapping.
