 Gold Essence is an Essence. It is primarily used in the  Dwarven Mines.

 Gold Essence can be be obtained in the  Dwarven Mines,  Crystal Hollows, and the Catacombs in multiple ways:

• Opening Crystal Hollows Treasure Chests.
• Completing the Crystal Nucleus.
• Dungeon Secret Chests
• Killing Watcher Undeads with the Golden modifier in the Catacombs.
• Salvaging certain items and items upgraded with  Gold Essence.
• Unlocking Golden Heads.
• Unlocking Marigold's Shop.
• Trading with Gold Forger and Marigold visitors in  The Garden.
