Speed

Speed (Spd) is one of the core player Stats. It is a measure of the walking and running speed of the player expressed as a percentage of the original speed.

Mechanics

Speed is a measure of how much faster the player walks compared to the default speed. It is expressed as a percentage of the default speed.

Speed is capped at 400% normally.

Movement speed in blocks per second can be calculated using this formula:

Base Speed - amount of movement speed coded into Minecraft. Base Speed values for different actions are following:

Speed Modifier - your Speed stat value. Percent value must be converted to decimal (e.x. 230% = 2.3).

Speed does not apply when airborne. Flying speed is always approximately 10.889 blocks/s (252%), or 21.778 blocks/s (504%) when sprinting, after reaching maximum velocity, and assuming you are moving straight forward at a perfect 90 degree angle and not holding any other movement keys.

Increasing Base Speed

Players have a base Speed of 100 by default. It can be increased by:

Leveling Wolf Slayer (up to 3 Speed)
Buying Forbidden Speed in the Wither Essence Shop. (Up to 2 Speed)

Increasing Bonus Speed

There are several ways to gain additional bonus Speed, which last for various amounts of time.

Increasing Maximum Speed

Players have a maximum Speed of 400% by default. It can be increased by:

Decreasing Speed

A Slowness Potion decreases speed by the same intervals as speed potions.
The Venomous Potion decreases speed by 5% per level up to 20%.
Players may use Rancher's Boots to cap their speed at a lower value.
Players may use Crop Speed settings on The Garden to cap their speed when breaking a specific crop after giving Sam a Sundial.
The Warden Helmet halves Speed when worn.
The Snail Pet caps the player's Speed at 100.
The Bluetooth Ring decreases speed by 2.
The Bluertooth Ring decreases speed by 3.
The Glacite Chunk power decreases speed by 1.8 up to -94 at 2050 Accessory Power
Every 25 Cold reduces Speed cap by 25% regardless of Cold Resistance.

However, this can be increased with A) Being inside of the Catacombs, B) Standing on a Haste Block, or C) Being in the Farming Islands. However, this is not possible.

Trivia

When Mayor Technoblade was elected, the speed cap was supposedly removed, allowing players to achieve speed higher than 600%. However, the real speed of the player was still limited to 500%.
There used to be a bug where the speed buff from the Aspect of the End never ran out on the player's island. This allowed for the player to easily achieve 400% speed. This was patched in version 0.7.
Riding on a [Lv1] Skeleton Horse Pet is equivalent to walking with 200% Speed (8.62 B/s), and riding on a [Lv100] Skeleton Horse Pet is equivalent to walking with 500% Speed (21.55 B/s).
Speed goes under the name speed in the SkyBlock API. However, items with Speed in the Rift Dimension have said stat go under the name rift_walk_speed. This means that while both stats act in the same way, they are technically different. Due to this, the speed bonus effect from Beacons does not work in the Rift, while other bonuses for stats such as Magic Find do.
While the highest possible speed is 850 Speed, Rancher's Boots's can be set to up to 1000.
The player used to be able to get infinite Speed. This was done by using the Bat Person Artifact and a glitched chunk to get infinite bats while wearing Super Heavy Armor or Heavy Armor.
The player hypothetically could obtain close to 44,000 Speed without bugs or glitches. This would be done by getting the maximum intelligence while holding a Rogue Sword and then spamming the Rogue Sword during Mayor Jerry. This is not possible since a 5s cooldown was added.
