Cold Resistance is one of the player's Misc Stats. It reduces how fast the player gains Cold, and also reduces the Cold's detrimental effect to Mining Speed.

Mechanics

Slowing Cold Gain

For every 1 Cold Resistance, reduce how fast the player gains Cold by 1%, which stacks additively, meaning with 100  it will build up twice as slow.

Numbing Cold's Effects

With 0 Cold Resistance, Cold reduces the player's Mining Speed by 0.5% per Cold.

If the player's Cold Resistance is greater than their Cold, this effect is completely negated.

Otherwise, the Mining Speed reduction is determined by the following formula:

Mining Speed Reduction=(Current Cold−Cold Resistance)/2

for example with 70 Cold and 55 Cold Resistance the Mining Speed is reduced by 7.5%.

7.5=(70−55)/2

With all of the above, players can reach 156.5 Cold Resistance or 174.35 Cold Resistance when Jerry is the active mayor. This will make them immune to Mining Speed reducing effect of Cold.

Glacite Mineshafts only:

With all of the above, players can reach 191.5 Cold Resistance while inside Glacite Mineshafts or 210.65 Cold Resistance when Jerry is the active mayor.

Critter Safari only:

With the above, players can reach 35 Cold Resistance while in the Critter Safari.
