Drills

Drills are tools used in the Mining skill to obtain ore and stone, similar to Pickaxes.

Drills are mining tools for rock-based materials. They can use the same Enchantments and Reforges as pickaxes do. They also have a  Breaking Power just like pickaxes.

Drills only work on islands that utilize the custom mining system that uses  Mining Speed instead of the vanilla mining system: this includes the  Gold Mine, the  Deep Caverns, the  Dwarven Mines, the  Crystal Hollows,  Glacite Mineshafts,  The End, the  Crimson Isle, and in  Kuudra's Hollow.

Drills require  Fuel to function. Most blocks cost 1  Fuel to mine,  Aquamarine,  Onyx,  Citrine and  Peridot Gemstones cost 2  Fuel to mine, whereas  Glacite,  Tungsten and  Umber cost 3  Fuel to mine.

The remaining Drill Fuel can be seen on the action bar.

On upgrading a Drill to a higher tier, such as forging a  Mithril Drill SX-R226 into a  Mithril Drill SX-R326, it will keep all its Drill Parts and extra stats, including Enchantments, Reforges, and used  Recombobulators. It should be noted that the  Titanium Drill DR-X355 is not an upgrade of the  Mithril Drill SX-R326, and is instead crafted purely from raw materials.

Drill Parts are additional upgrades for Drills. These can be combined to a drill using a Drill Anvil. There are three available categories of Drill Parts, being Fuel Tanks, Drill Engines, and Upgrade Modules.

• The  Mithril Drill SX-R326 is generally not recommended, since it has low  Breaking Power, and is very expensive for its stats: however, it is excellent for ᠅ Mithril Powder gain.
• If player wishes to progress via  Crystal Hollows, they should use the Gemstone Drill line since they're cheap and grant very useful  Pristine as well as other bonuses when mining Gemstones.
  • This is true until the player can afford Titanium Drill DR-X655 which is universal and the second best mining tool, due to it having a slot for Topaz gemstone, unlike its predecessors.
• On the other side, if the player wishes to progress through  Dwarven Mines, the Titanium Drills become a good alternative to Mithril gear.

• Extra blocks mined with the Efficient Miner HotM perk do not consume extra  Fuel.

• On August 23, 2022 all Drills would give 50-550 (depending on Drill Engine) of each stat due to a bug, this was fixed minutes later.
