What does it all mean?

Cake Souls are items received from eating Century Cake. They are often considered a collector item as they store the name of players.

If the player has more than 8 hours of playtime, a Century Cake will have a 0.1% chance to drop a Cake Soul of its color when eaten. Chance can be increased by  Artifact of the Century line. Their color corresponds to the color of cake eaten to receive it, with the exception of cyan and light blue being swapped. If a person would eat cakes in a perfectly optimized way, it would take, on average 167 days to get a cake soul.

A Cake Soul can be gained as MINOR reward during Raffle of the Century.

A Cake Soul can be chosen from the  Gift Bag of the Century as one of rewards.

The Cake Soul can be used by holding right click on a player. After a moment it will turn into a "captured" Cake Soul, displaying the name of the selected player, the date the soul was captured, and the username of the player who initiated the capture. After being used, the Cake Soul will become Co-op Soulbound and cannot be reused.

When obtained from a Century Cake, the "unused" Cake Soul stores the name of the player whose island the Century Cakes were on. Players who would like to obtain a Cake Soul with the "Cake owned by" of a specific member of a Co-op should visit the player they want before eating the Century Cakes.

• The  Cake Soul is one of eight naturally obtainable items to have the DIVINE rarity after being  recombobulated, the others being  Divan's Drill,  Diamond Magmafish,  Radioactive Vial,  Complete Century Cake Bundle,  Scorched Books and  Plasma Bucket.
• If a player uses the /nick command (available to 6MVP++ and 7YOUTUBE rank players) to change their username and a Cake Soul is used on them, it will display the nickname on the item, instead of the players original username.^[2]
• The Cake Soul's NBT data can be viewed with various mods such as SkyBlock Addons (/sba dev then hover over the Cake Soul and click right control to copy the NBT data) or SkyBlock Extras (/sbe dev then hover over the Cake Soul and the NBT data is viewable below the item). This is often used by collectors to check the Cake owned by of an "unused" Cake Soul before they buy them.
• If a 7YOUTUBE ranked player uses the /nick command to take a username; a second player changes their username to the same username as that of the 7YOUTUBE ranked player; and one of the players captures the other with a Cake Soul, that player will end up with a Cake Soul with the same Captured and Captured by names. If a player got a Cake Soul with Cake owned by [player] after the 30 day name change cooldown, they can change their username back to the one displayed on the Cake Soul, to obtain one with a triple name (see Gallery).
• When a player obtains a Cake Soul from Century Cakes on their own island, the NBT tag skyblock_cake_owner is missing, resulting in used Cake Souls with no Cake owned by [PLAYER] (see Gallery).
• The  Green Cake Soul used to be obtained from the  Pet Rock Century Cake before the  Undead ༕ Century Cake was added.
• The  Aqua Cake Soul and  Cyan Cake Soul used to be obtained from their Century Cake swapped.
