Dungeon Secrets

Dungeon Secrets are hidden features embedded in Dungeons. They increase Exploration Score.

Spawning

Secrets are found in the overwhelming majority of Dungeons Rooms.
For a set room, the amount, types, and locations of its Secrets are predetermined and invariable.
However, major differences exist in their spawning conditions:
- Upon run start^[1];
- Upon room entry;
- Upon custom bounding box entry, in which a check is run every 20 ticks before spawning the Secret.
They are typically located in hidden areas, out of sight of the player; they may be located in high areas, behind corners or Cracked Stone Bricks walls and floors, or in secluded rooms.
Certain secrets may be guarded by mobs, traps, Puzzles, or openable barriers (see Chests behavior below).

Types of Secrets

	Bat	Must be killed by a player. Highly volatile, as they can spawn dormant, awakened, or not spawn at all^[2]: Dormant, they are in a stable state; Awakened, they are in an unstable state, flying erratically and exposing themselves to hazardous situations. Secret Tracker 3000 can still target them; Not spawning at all, though standing near its supposed spawning location grants credit regardless. Fragile, as they may die from hazardous situations. These will result in voiding the secret credit^[Confirm]: Environmental hazards such as Lava or traps; Dungeon Mobs in a crossfire.
	Chest	Must be opened. Double Chests count on both sides. If they contain Essence or a Blessing and are supposedly guarded by a puzzle, generally involving Levers and Redstone Keys, then the player will be unable to open them^[3]. Otherwise, the chest is free to open. On Floor VI, VII, and their MASTER MODE counterparts, 1 Secret Chest at random is replaced by a Mimic, which will manifest itself only after the player has interacted with its nolink. Killing the Mimic grants 2 points towards the Bonus Score, clearing its Secret in the process.
	Item Pick-up	Must be picked up.
	Wither Essence	Appears on the ground. Must be right-clicked. Collecting 2 Wither Essences in quick succession (within seconds) may void credit for the second one.

Dungeon Journals and Crypts do not count as Secrets.
- Crypt Undead and Prince kills can count towards the Exploration Score.

Finding Secrets

Certain resources allow for easier Secret collection:

Heads-Up Display

While in a room containing at least 1 Secret, the Action Bar reads both its amounts of found and total Secrets.
- For example: Secrets 5/9.
While in a room containing at least 1 Secret, the Tab List reads both its amounts of found and total Secrets.

Items

The Dungeonbreaker can temporarily break blocks in Dungeons, consuming 1 charge per block. Up to 20 blocks can be broken at once, and broken blocks reappear after 10 seconds. It cannot be used in Puzzle Rooms, on doors, or to pass through walls into a separate room.
Both Superboom TNT and Infinityboom TNT, when placed on a Cracked Stone Bricks wall or floor, will instantaneously remove it.
The Secret Tracker 3000 draws a straight line of particles thrice towards the nearest Secret. It has a cooldown of 5 seconds.
Any mobility item such as the Aspect of the Void.
The Magical Map visuals will update for each discovered room by displaying an icon on top of its respective background:
- Nothing: the room is uncleared.
- ✘: the room has been failed.
- ✔: the room has been cleared and at least 1 of its secrets are undiscovered.
- ✔: the room has been cleared and all its secrets have been discovered.

External Tools

Mods may be used, though they all stand under the "use at your own risk" policy.

Rewards

Secrets contribute up to 40 points towards the Exploration Score. The score gained from Secrets is calculated as follows:

The percentage of Secrets required to receive all 40 points depends on the Catacombs floor:

Secrets also reward their finder with loot or a Dungeon buff which affects the whole team.
