Livid
I am Livid, the Master of Shadows.
This Orb you see, is Thorn, or what is left of him.
In a way, I have to thank you for getting rid of him.
I can now turn those Spirits into shadows of myself, identical to their creator.
I respect you for making it to here, but I'll be your undoing.

Lore
[edit | edit source]Master Necromancer
Strongly believes he will become the Lord one day. Subject of mockeries, even from his disciples.
Boss Fight
[edit | edit source]
Livid reveals a Dark Orb in the center of the arena as the remains of Thorn and that he is using its power to clone himself. After 16s, he blinds everyone for 1s and spawns eight clones from Endermen. Each of these clones has the same amount of health and stats, but they have different nametag colors. The real Livid can be identified by looking at the color of the ceiling once the clones have spawned. When players kill a clone, it will regenerate all the way back to full HP and heal nearby clones by 25% of their maximum health. In Master Mode Catacombs - Floor V, all Livids will also gain a damage boost when a clone dies. Like Thorn, Livid has only one phase, which ends when the real Livid is killed (causing all clones to despawn).
Unlike other bosses, the boss bar does not show Livid's remaining health, so players cannot determine which entity is him by damaging them separately.
Hypixel has updated the Boss Room so that after the blindness applies to the player, the wool near the middle of the ceiling will indicate the color of the real Livid, and Livid and his clones also no longer teleport to players.

Strategies
[edit | edit source]Lore
[edit | edit source]Livid lived on the street and surviving by stealing fruit from peddler's carts until he joined the Guild of Thieves. There, he became a member when only 15 years old. He received his first assassination contract at the age of 17, directly from the Guild's leader. While Livid was a very skilled thief, this was going to be his first murder, and he enjoyed it, seeing it as art. Over the years, he started to think it was too easy for him, and sought more challenging kills.
One night, he went to an Inn to murder someone. Sitting at a table, he noticed a mysterious man come in, which was Necron before fully withering. Livid noticed that he hid a small chest in a long black cape. Very soon after Necron came in, Livid noticed another man was following him and studying Necron for almost an hour. This was Lathrop, the man that becomes the Watcher. After Necron suddenly left his table and went upstairs, Livid decided to learn more about him. He sat down with Lathrop, pretending to be drunk. He learned that Necron was "a merchant from far away." Livid decided that he would kill Necron as he was a "perfect target."
Livid went to Necron's room from the outside and saw that he was sleeping, but there was no sign of the small chest. He readied his dagger to strike, when his concentration was halted by a sound coming from an already inspected empty corner. Livid knew that sound does not come from thin air, unless magic is involved. The body in the bed was gone, and Livid felt himself being cut in half with no time to react. This was Necron. The blade was pulled out, no blood flowed, and Livid couldn't feel his body anymore.
His killer, Necron, then took his body with him to The Catacombs. Necron quickly noticed he was followed by Lathrop, after questioning him, Necron decided to take Lathrop with him to his Master. Livid then became a Master Necromancer, training disciples, presumably for Necron's army. However his subjects were not loyal to him and mock him. The reasons for this are currently unknown.
