Dr. Emmett

Dr. Emmett is an NPC located in the  Mirrorverse and acts as a guide. He is also present in some Dungeon Journals.

[NPC] Dr. Emmett: While I couldn't quite figure out portals, I did manage to let the mirror dimension interact with the real world and vice versa. Lore

Story

After the Calamity took the life of Lathrop's parents, Dr. Emmett adopted him. He was interested in studying The Breach that also came from the Calamity. One day, over thirty years after the Calamity, he asked Lathrop to deliver a letter with details regarding his experiment to his colleague in the  Wilderness. The letter however, was never delivered, since Lathrop went to The Catacombs with Necron and became The Watcher.

Since Lathrop never delivered the letter, Dr. Emmett asked Alatar to summon a copy of it. He threw the letter into the breach, which caused an event that transformed him into the Rift Dimension, to be forever stuck there. He continues his study from inside of the Rift as the first human to enter this dimension, unfortunately he is forever stuck there.

Trivia

Dr. Emmett is one of a few NPCs who are not originally from Rift Dimension, alongside Julian, Barry, Alatar and Tel Kar.
Dr. Emmett and The Watcher's names are references to Dr. Emmett Lathrop Brown, also known as Doc, from Back to the Future: in the lore, The Watcher's original name was Lathrop.
