Mining Islands

Mining Islands are a category of Public Islands revolving around the 
Mining skill.
Overview
[edit | edit source]All Mining Islands, unlike most other islands, use a custom mining system that utilises Mining Speed. To achieve this, the server grants the player permanent Mining Fatigue, which prevents players from breaking blocks that are not intended to be mined. This behaviour is also seen in locations such as The End, the Backwater Bayou, and the Catacombs.

The Gold Mine is the first Mining Island, accessible at Mining I (1) from the Mining District and Coal Mine. Players can mine 
Coal, 
Iron Ingots, and 
Gold Ingots.
Additionally, the Gold Mine contains 3 major attractions:
Rusty allows the player to re-purchase one-time rewards for Coins.- The
Lazy Miner sends the player on a quest to collect his 
Iron Pickaxe. - The
Iron Forger and 
Gold Forger sell iron and gold gear.
Deep Caverns
[edit | edit source]The Deep Caverns is the second Mining Island, consisting of 6 layers: the Gunpowder Mines, Lapis Quarry, Pigmen's Den, Slimehill, Diamond Reserve, and Obsidian Sanctuary. Each section is connected by the 
Lift Operator, which also allows access to the Dwarven Mines.
Each section has its corresponding ore and mob:
Sneaky Creepers can be found in the Gunpowder Mines, where Coal, Iron Ingots, and Gold Ingots can be mined.
Lapis Zombies can be found in the Lapis Quarry, where 
Lapis Lazuli can be mined.
Redstone Pigmen can be found in the Pigmen's Den, where 
Redstone Dust can be mined.
Slimes can be found in the Slimehill, where 
Emeralds can be mined.- Sneaky Creepers can be found in the Gunpowder Mines, where Coal, Iron Ingots, and Gold Ingots can be mined.
Miner Zombies and 
Miner Skeletons can be found in the Diamond Reserve, where 
Diamonds can be mined.
- Stronger variants appear in the Obsidian Sanctuary, where
Obsidian can be mined.

Dwarven Mines

The Dwarven Mines are a location where the player unlocks the 
Heart of the Mountain.
