Chisels

Chisels are used at the Fossil Excavator in the  Fossil Research Center, alongside  Suspicious Scrap to use the Fossil Excavator.

Each Chisel has a set amount of Charges, which increase with rarity, giving you more chances to find treasure in the Fossil Excavator.

The COMMON Chisel is given to the Player the first time they talk to Dr. Stone; alternatively it can be bought from Researcher Beryl at the  Fossil Research Center with  5 Fossil Essence. The Chisel can then be upgraded by forging in  The Forge. Each upgrade has a Heart of the Mountain Tier requirement.

Chisels gain an extra Chisel Gemstone Slot after each upgrade. For example, the initial  Chisel has no gemstone slots, but the  Perfect Chisel has 3.

Each gemstone type grants a different buff to the Chisel: Each Gemstone type grants a different buff to the Chisel, and is not affected by rarity, unlike all other instances of Gemstone being applied:
