Sweep

Sweep is one of the player Stats. It plays a major role in the Foraging skill.

Mechanics

Sweep is one of the statistics in the calculation of how many logs are broken upon breaking a log with an Axe. The toughness of different trees makes Sweep less effective. Having a higher Sweep than a tree's toughness is recommended before starting to cut that tree type.

On trees with a Toughness of 0, Sweep directly corresponds to the number of extra logs broken (capped at 35, for 36 total logs broken). On trees with a higher toughness, amount of logs broken is dependant on the tree and it's Toughness.

Throwing an Axe will give a -50% Sweep penalty. This penalty can be reduced with the Missile enchantment, or removed with the Precursor Drone Pet.

Additionally, on Galatea, breaking trees in the wrong order will sweep another 50% less logs, stacking multiplicatively with the Axe throw penalty.

Plus, Sweep also affects the breaking speed of wood, working like the Mining Speed.

Formula

Basic Trees

Trees in the  Forest and The Park have 0 Toughness. For these trees, Sweep simply represents the number of extra logs that will be cut, but players will always cut at least 1 and at most 36 logs.

Galatea Trees

Trees in Galatea have non-zero Toughness, which is essentially a form of resistance to Sweep. The higher the Toughness, the more Sweep the player needs to cut a given amount of extra logs at once.

The Chop attribute grants the player a 10%–100% chance to cut an additional log.

The amount is capped at a maximum of 20 extra logs cut.

The maximum possible Sweep is 1163.97.

However, note that there are sources of effective sweep not counted into the stat profile (as listed below). There may also be limitations with the possible number of perks active at once due to limited Token of the Forest. Attaining maximum 1000 Strength, 500 Speed, and 3749 Mana to maximize HOTF perks may also be difficult with the equipment used during foraging.

Calculation

flat = 718.5

multiplier = 1 + 0.62 = 1.62

effective = flat * multiplier = 718.5 * 1.62 ~= 1163.97

When cutting the log marked with a particle, in melee, as the first hit of the tree, and as one of the first 250 logs of the day while using the Maniac Slicer axe ability (and all other requirements listed above), theoretically, one can have 1288.58 Sweep on Fig logs, 1387.06 Sweep on Mangrove logs, and 1485.53 Sweep on Helix logs.

Calculation

fig: 850.55 * 1.515 = 1288.58325

mangrove: 915.55 * 1.515 = 1387.05825

helix: 980.55 * 1.515 = 1485.53325

fig flat sum = 104.55 (axe) + 15 (first imp. v) + 100 (armor) + 120 (equip.) + 42 (pet) + 116 (attr.) + 36 (gifts) + 50 (powers) + 262 (hotf) + 5 (cake) = 850.55

multiplier = 1 + 10% (first sweep) + 10% (personal best) + 31.5% (jade dragon ability) = 1.515
