Effects
Deals 3x damage to Sea Creatures. Ability: Flay RIGHT CLICK Flay your whip in an arc, dealing your melee damage to all enemies in its path. Heal 1% for each Sea Creature hit, up to 25 .

The Flaming Flay can be used as a melee or ranged weapon.

When the Flay ability is used, a red and yellow beam is shot in the direction the player is aiming. This beam has a parabolic trajectory, traveling forward 13 blocks and upwards 2 blocks. The beam travels through enemies, damaging all in its path; for the first 3 enemies hit, it deals its melee damage, then it is halved for every subsequent enemy hit. Each hit Sea Creature heals 1%. The ability does not consume Mana, but has a hidden cooldown of 0.5s. Holding right-click will continuously activate the ability.

The Flaming Flay also deals 3x damage to Sea Creatures.

The Flaming Flay can be upgraded with Wither Essence. Once converted, it requires Catacombs XXIII (23) to use.

Tips

Due to its high piercing and range, it has good crowd-control capabilities.
This weapon, along with the Soul Whip and Halberd of the Shredded, can be used to take The Wither Lords' aggro easily.

Trivia

Melee-only enchantments, such Life Steal, Mana Steal, Sharpness, and Drain, work on the beam.
When right-clicking with this weapon, the Autopet rule for throwing a fishing hook does not trigger.

Bugs

While Power Scrolls can be applied to a Flaming Flay, its ability does not activate them.
Dealing the killing blow to certain Sea Creatures that consist of multiple entities (such as Pyroclastic Worms) using the Flaming Flay's ability may result in no loot being dropped.
When attacking certain mobs with the Flaming Flay's ability, extra damage numbers may appear, even though the ability only hit once.
