Black Holes

Black Holes are a type of  Hunting Deployable. They are used in Hunting to hunt creatures at low  Health to obtain their respective Attribute Shard.

A Black Hole can be placed down to draw in nearby Mobs. Having lower  Health causes the Black Hole to pull it in stronger. Once an eligible Mob has less than 10%  Health and is within range, the Black Hole can catch it to gain its Attribute Shard. Black Holes despawn after 180 seconds and can have the timer reset by catching a Mob.

Additionally, the  Medium and  Large Pocket Black Holes grant +2.5  and +5  Hunting Fortune for Combat Shards respectively.

• Black Holes are best paired with Huntaxes, due to them preventing fatal blows.
• When capturing a mob, the Black Hole will play an animation lasting 2 seconds for each level of Rarity of the shard being captured. For example, an EPIC shard would take 8 seconds to capture. The Black Hole cannot capture another mob during this animation and shortly after it ends.
  • This animation can be shortened in the following ways:
    • Hunter's Pressure attribute by up to 50% (60% with Echo of Hunter, 65% with Echo of Echoes)
    •  Accretion Talisman,  Accretion Ring and  Accretion Artifact by 5%, 10% and 15% respectivelly.
  • The delay after finishing a capture can be skipped by immediately placing down the Black Hole again.
• Due to the Hunter’s Grasp attribute increasing the  Hunting Fortune of Black Holes by up to 13%, using Black Holes can yield more Attribute Shards than other methods of hunting the same mob.

• Black Holes cannot be placed in the Catacombs. Attempting to do so will issue the following message:
  Pocket Black Holes cannot be placed inside The Catacombs!
  • As a result, the only way to obtain Attribute Shards from Catacombs mobs is through Charming. The ❣ Charm Chance stat can be increased through the use of Salts, the Charmed Attribute Shard, or by leveling the  Hunting Skill.
