Bonus Pest Chance

Bonus Pest Chance is a Stat that increases the chance for multiple Pests to spawn at once. Each multiple of 100 is a guaranteed additional Pest spawn, and the remaining is a percentage chance for one more.

Farming Fortune Penalty

When 4 or more Pests are on  The Garden at once, the player's Farming Fortune (as well as each crop-specific fortune stat) is reduced, first by 5% and then multiples of 15%. Farming Fortune will continue to be lost for each additional Pest, up to 8, after which no more Pests will spawn until at least one is killed. The maximum Farming Fortune loss is 75%.

For each 100 Bonus Pest Chance the player has, they can have 1 more Pest on their Garden before their Farming Fortune starts being reduced. The reduction then starts at 5% and scales from there.

This adds up to a total of 561.5 Bonus Pest Chance, which means 6 Pests are guaranteed to spawn at once, and there is a 51.5% chance for a 7th Pest to spawn.

While it is technically possible to reach 671.5 Bonus Pest Chance using a sword with Chimera V, this setup cannot be used in practice due to the inability to break crops with it.

Tips

The Pesthunter Badge and its upgraded versions can toggle Bonus Pest Chance, therefore there are no drawbacks to permanent gains in Bonus Pest Chance, such as the Wriggling Larva.
Pest spawns can be reduced with the use of Pest Repellent or Pest Repellent MAX, increasing the cooldown of Pests spawning by 2x and 4x respectively.

Notes

When disabling Bonus Pest Chance using Pesthunter Badge, the pests that would not reduce the player's Farming Fortune, thanks to the added bonus of every 100 , will now reduce the Farming Fortune.

Trivia

It is the only Farming Stat that isn't disabled by default on the player's Private Island.
This and Soulflow are the only stat that can be disabled by the player, which can be done using Pesthunter Badge or its upgrades.
