Mage

Mage is a dungeon class that specializes in dealing high Magic and area of effect damage. Most Magic Weapons have strong area of effect abilities that can clear out huge waves of mobs but in return struggle with tankier mobs such as mini bosses.

Strategies
[edit | edit source]Mage tactics can be categorized into the two following meta:
Left Click Mage: utilizes the mage beam (the mage staff passive) to do extremely high amounts of Damage. This is an alternative to the Berserker class, as while you can achieve much higher numbers, mage beam is less consistent than berserker attacks, and you also get less Effective Health. The best Left Click Mage armors have both high Intelligence, Strength, and Crit Damage (for example, Ancient Storm's Armor is very good for left click mage). The Dark Claymore and Midas' Sword with the ultimate enchantment Chimera are currently the best weapons for this play style. This is because they both have very high base damage, which when paired with the right armor, equipment and pet allows players to achieve insane amounts of damage. It is recommended to optimize for Strength and Crit Damage when getting stone powers and stats tuning for your accessories. Good pets for this play style include damage pets such as the Ender Dragon Pet and Golden Dragon Pet.
Right Click Mage: Utilizes weapon abilities to deal less damage than mage beam, better suited against clusters of mobs. The best armors are either armor sets that provide good Effective Health, like Necromancer Lord Armor, or armor sets that provide a lot of Mana, like Storm's Armor or Wise Dragon Armor. Some weapons that can be used include Dreadlord Sword (early game), Bonzo's Staff (early-mid game), Frozen Scythe (early-mid game), Spirit Sceptre (mid game), Yeti Sword (mid game), Midas' Staff (late game), Ice Spray Wand (more used for its ability which freezes all enemies as opposed to its Ability Damage, late-end game), and Hyperion (or Astraea for more ehp, late-end game). As for pets, both the Sheep Pet and Golden Dragon Pet increase output damage significantly with the Sheep also reducing mana consumption. It is still often recommended to use both left and right click for this strategy, as melee hits in dungeons regenerate 5 + 1% of max mana. Also, with the mana steal enchant from Enderman Slayer, melee hits can regenerate up to 5 + 1.6% of max mana. When tuning accessories, it is best to use the Inspired Power at first, but as soon as you can buy Ender Monocles for the Sighted power, buy it. The ability damage and intelligence are superior to all powers save Bizarre, which is late game due to its absurd cost.
