Jacob's Farming Contest is an event that takes place every 3 SkyBlock days, and lasts for 20 minutes (real life time), during which three random crops from the Farming Collection are selected for players to collect.

Mechanics

Timing

The event lasts for 1 day in SkyBlock Time, or 20 minutes in real-life time. The interval of Jacob's Farming Contest is 3 days in SkyBlock Time, or 1 hour in real-life time.

Requirements

The player needs to be at least Farming X (10) to participate, and must talk to Jacob at least once. At least 100 of the current event crop must be collected to earn any rewards.

Rewards

There are 5 brackets of rewards: BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD, PLATINUM and DIAMOND. Each bracket earns better rewards.

If Finnegan is elected as Mayor or Minister with the GOATed perk, the amount of players included in each bracket is increased by up to 10%.

Jacob's Tickets are items that can be spent with Anita to buy items to help build farms, as well as chips that grant Crop Fortune for the active crop during the contest and increased experience gain for Farming Tools. They are also used to buy Farming Fortune boosts and increase players' Farming level cap to 60 (LX).

Turbo-Crop books are Enchanted Books with enchantments that grant the player 5 of the corresponding Crop Fortune per level, up to 5. Level 4 and 5 Turbo-Crop enchantments require a having earned a BRONZE and SILVER in their crop, respectively, otherwise they act as if the player didn't have the Turbo-Crop enchantment at all. The player will always get a book for the crop whose contest they participated in. The books may also appear as a reward from the Librarian visitor on  The Garden.

The amount of Bits earned from contests is multiplied by the player's Bits Multiplier, based on their Fame Rank.

Earning a GOLD medal allows the player to increase their Farming level cap by one per crop they earned a GOLD medal in, up to 60 (LX).

The PLATINUM and DIAMOND tiers do not have their own medals, but rather give the player additional medals and other rewards as seen in the table above. Reaching the PLATINUM or DIAMOND bracket in all crops will also reward the player with unique emblems.

Tips

It is possible to kill Pests during contests, as well as prepare up to 20 Pests ahead of time (8 on the Garden and 12 in Vermin Traps) and kill them as soon as the contest starts in order to achieve much higher scores.
- Furthermore, a player can also prepare all Greenhouse plots with the crop that will be in the contest. This allows the player to instantly get a high amount of crops depending on their Greenhouse Upgrades and Farming Fortune.

Trivia

Contest brackets each include one additional player on top of the normal percentage, so players may score in a higher bracket if they were the one closest to it.
When starting a contest or warping within the last 3 seconds of a contest, Jacob may be unable to figure out the player's placing. However, the score will be calculated correctly regardless.
The chat message may report the wrong bracket if it was very close and changed last second. Jacob will tell players the actual bracket they placed in when talking to him.
If there is a Jacob's Contest ongoing, scheduled server restarts will be delayed until 20 seconds after it is over. However, unlike Dungeons and Kuudra, game update restarts are not delayed.
