Fermento is an EPIC item used to craft  Condensed Fermento.

Fermento has a chance to drop when breaking a mature  Sugar Cane,  Cactus,  Brown Mushroom,  Red Mushroom, or  Nether Wart crop while wearing at least 2 pieces of  Squash Armor,  Fermento Armor, or  Helianthus Armor. Pieces from different armor sets do not count towards each other's Tiered Bonus.

The chance can be increased by  Overbloom.

Fermento has a chance to drop when breaking any crop or mutation with a "Harvestable" status inside the Greenhouse while wearing at least 2 pieces of  Squash Armor,  Fermento Armor, or  Helianthus Armor. Pieces from different armor sets do not count towards each other's Tiered Bonus.
