Player

The player is the representation of the real person. All actions in real life control the player.

Stats

[edit | edit source]

The player has several base Stats that affect their gameplay. These are categorised into Combat Stats, Mining Stats, Farming Stats, Foraging Stats, Fishing Stats, Miscellaneous Stats, Hunting Stats, and Wisdom Stats.

Effective Health

[edit | edit source]

Health represents how much health the player has: when the player's health reaches 0, the player dies. Due to the lack of a designated hunger system in SkyBlock, saturation does not determine the rate at which Health regenerates: instead, the player's Health Regen determines the player's healing rate, and the player's Vitality increases all incoming healing. Similarly, the player's Mending affects all outgoing healing, which increases how much the player heals other players.

Defense represents the player's damage reduction: the more Defense the player has, the less damage they take.

The combined effects of Health and Defense, while not visualized as a stat in-game, can be represented with Effective Health.

Damage

[edit | edit source]

The player's total Damage is dependent on their Strength, Crit Damage, and the Damage of their equipped weapon. Additionally, external modifiers can increase the player's damage output, such as the Warden Helmet Warden Helmet or Golden Dragon Pet Golden Dragon Pet.

The player's Strength serves as a Damage multiplier, increasing the damage output of the player. Likewise, the player's Crit Damage serves as a Damage multiplier towards critical hits, which is dependent on the player's Crit Chance.

In most cases, it is better to balance the player's Strength and Crit Damage as evenly as possible: the closer the two stats are, the higher the player's Final Damage will be.

Swing Range

[edit | edit source]

Swing Range determines the range at which the player can hit enemies with melee weapons. Similar to vanilla Minecraft, the player's base Swing Range is 3 : this can be increased with Longswords or items such as the Giraffe Pet Giraffe Pet.

It is important to note that Swing Range does not affect the player's interaction range: higher Swing Range will not allow the player to mine or break blocks from further, or the like.

Attack Speed

[edit | edit source]

Attack Speed determines two things: the reduction of invulnerability ticks an enemy is granted upon hitting them, and the fire rate of Shortbows. The maximum Attack Speed is 100 Attack Speed, which doubles the rate of attack. Thermodynamic Helmet.png Thermodynamic Armor increases the cap by +50% .

Movement

[edit | edit source]

Walking and Sprinting

[edit | edit source]

Walking and sprinting are the most basic form of movement in Hypixel SkyBlock, and is traditionally bound to W and ⌃ Ctrl respectively.

The player's Speed determines the rate at which the player walks: the base Speed cap is 400 , which can be increased by items such as the Racing Helmet Racing Helmet and Unalloyed Speed Unalloyed Speed pet item. Additionally, some items will reduce the player's speed, such as the Warden Helmet Warden Helmet or Heavy Helmet.png Heavy Armor.

Due to the lack of hunger in SkyBlock, players are able to sprint indefinitely without loss of hunger or a similar stamina system.

By holding Shift, the player can enter a state where they move slower and cannot fall off the edges of blocks. Players can still move off of a block by jumping off of them, or by walking onto a slab or stair.

Jumping

[edit | edit source]

Jumping allows the player to leap into the air and is traditionally bound to Space. By default, the player is able to jump 1.25 blocks high: this can be increased with the Jump Boost effect.

Several items can be equipped or consumed to increase the player's Jump Boost, such as the Jump Boost Potion Jump Boost Potion, Horse Pet Horse Pet and Balloon Snake Balloon Snake: however, the most significant source of Jump Boost is the God Potion God Potion, which grants Jump Boost IV.

Swimming

[edit | edit source]

Swimming allows the player to swim through water without being slowed while the player is fully submerged, and is traditionally bound to the same keybinds as sprinting. The rate at which a player swims and moves in water can be increased with Depth Strider.

Experience

[edit | edit source]

Experience is a system that increments with obtaining Experience Orbs. It can be obtained from multiple sources, including but not limited to killing mobs, fishing, and mining Ores and Dwarven Metals: however, it is primarily obtained from Experience Bottle Experience Bottles and its higher tiers.

Experience is used for enchanting items at an Enchantment Table Enchantment Table, combining enchantments in an Anvil Anvil, and accessing the Experimentation Table Experimentation Table. Note that enchanting items do not cost Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli alongside   Experience, and combining items in an Anvil Anvil will not increase the item's upgrade or repair cost.

Interface

[edit | edit source]

The player's interface, also known as the HUD (heads-up display), showcases vital information for the player. It consists of the health bar, hunger bar, experience bar, hotbar, scoreboard, and boss bar.

Hotbar

[edit | edit source]

The hotbar is a selection bar that appears at the bottom of the screen, where the player's selected items can be quickly accessed: the player can swap through their hotbar through 1-9 or through scrolling.

The SkyBlock Menu SkyBlock Menu is permanently bound to the ninth hotbar slot. While there are arrows in the Quiver Quiver or Fishing Baits in the Fishing Bag Fishing Bag, holding a Bow changes the menu from a Nether Star Nether Star to an Arrow Arrow; holding a Shortbow changes the menu to a Feather Feather; holding a Fishing Rod changes the menu to the player's selected Fishing Bait; and holding any Scaffolding changes the menu to show how much Scaffolding the player can place.

The offhand, normally accessible through F, is notably disabled in SkyBlock.

Action bar

[edit | edit source]

The action bar displays the player's Health, Defense Mana, and Vitality. If the player has 0 Defense, it is omitted from the action bar: additionally, if the player has Overflow Mana active, it is displayed beside the player's Mana.

When the player uses an ability or enters a new location, the Defense marker is replaced with its respective text. For example:

  • -# Mana (<ability name>)
  • <zone name>

The vanilla stat bars consist of the health, hunger, and armor bars. While the health bar adapts to the player's Health and Absorption, the lack of a hunger system and most sets of armor being a variation of dyed Leather Helmet Leather Armor results in the hunger bar and armor bar being largely obsolete.

Scoreboard

[edit | edit source]

The scoreboard displays the player's in-real-life date, alongside the SkyBlock Time, current Location, number of Coins in the Purse and Bits available (if applicable), among other useful information, including but not limited to:

Boss Bar

[edit | edit source]

The boss bar is used in a multitude of ways:
