The Ember Rod is an unobtainable EPIC Sword which used to be dropped by the Magma Cube Boss in the Blazing Fortress. It requires Combat VIII (8) to use and can now only be obtained through the Auction House or Trading.

Obtaining

The Ember Rod is unobtainable. Prior to the 0.7.8 update, the Ember Rod would drop to a random player: you must have dealt at least 1 damage to roll for an Ember Rod. Only one player could obtain an Ember Rod per boss.

Trivia

The Ember Rod is directly related to another Hypixel Minigame, Mega Walls. The ability of the Blaze Kit in Mega Walls is the same as the Ember Rod.
Upon SkyBlock's initial release, the Ember Rod was considered to be one of the best swords in the game, falling behind the Leaping Sword and Pigman Sword and costing over 200,000 Coins on the Auction House.
- 7[YOUTUBE] TimeDeo and his Co-op members abused the high cost of the Ember Rod and the fact that the Magma Cube Boss's spawn times used to vary between servers to become the first Co-op with 50,000,000 Coins.^[1]
The Ember Rod could previously be crafted into Blaze Powder using the vanilla crafting grid in the Inventory. A later update forbade non-vanilla items from being used in vanilla crafting recipes.
The Fire Blast ability doesn't work on Endermen, as projectiles cannot hit them.
