Taming

 Taming is one of the Skills available for players to level up as they perform certain actions that give them Taming XP. Leveling Taming increases the player's Extra Pet XP, Exp Share rate, and  Pet Luck.

Like other Skills, Roman Numerals are used to express its levels in-game.

Although Taming goes from levels 1 - 60 (I - LX), there is 50 XP required to reach the first level, meaning there is a "level 0", just like all other skills.

The Taming Level Cap can be increased through George, to a maximum of Level 60 (LX). In order to reach this cap, players have to give George specific Pets (with the same or higher rarity):

•  EPIC Rift Ferret Pet
•  EPIC Slug Pet
•  EPIC Spirit Pet
•  EPIC Giraffe Pet
•  EPIC Jellyfish Pet
•  EPIC Bal Pet
•  EPIC Baby Yeti Pet
•  LEGENDARY Black Cat Pet
•  RARE Frost Wisp Pet
•  MYTHIC Enderman Pet

The Pets will not be given back to you, so it's recommended to give [Lv1] pets to George (or whatever is cheapest).

The amount of Taming XP gained depends on the Skill XP gained and on the Pet's type. Using a Pet whose type differs from the skill XP gained results in less Taming XP earned. A pet must be active to earn Taming XP. Different skills result in different amounts of Taming XP gained.

Zoologist is an ability exclusively unlocked by leveling up the Taming Skill. Each level of Zoologist grants +1% Pet XP gained and +1  Pet Luck.

Each level of Taming grants one level of Zoologist. For example, if the player were on Taming level 15, the player would therefore also be on Zoologist level 15.

The cumulative rewards at  Taming level XXV (25) are:

• +25% extra Pet XP
• +25  Pet Luck
• 1,334,100 Coins
• 200 SkyBlock XP

The cumulative rewards at  Taming level L (50) are:

• +50% extra Pet XP
• +50  Pet Luck
• 17,259,100 Coins
• 700 SkyBlock XP

The cumulative rewards at  Taming Level LX (60)

• +60% extra Pet XP
• +60  Pet Luck
• 27,259,100 Coins
• 1,000 SkyBlock XP

Leveling up Taming is not only good for extra pet luck but can also be used in order to upgrade pets using Kat. Players will need  Taming Level 10 to get a pet from RARE to EPIC,  Taming Level 20 in order to get a pet from EPIC to LEGENDARY, and  Taming Level 25 to get a pet from LEGENDARY to MYTHIC. It's also very effective for leveling pets faster if the player has a decent level of at least 25. It can also be used to upgrade the base  Damage of the  Daedalus Blade.

• Doing an action with a pet that is already level 100 still yields Taming XP. The excess of XP will be "credited" to the pet, so if its rarity is upgraded, the excess will be added to the pet's XP. This means that the player's pet can still be level 100 after picking it up from Kat, if it has enough excessive XP at the previous rarity. However, you cannot feed a level 100 pet Pet Food.
• All Pet XP boosts work multiplicatively together:  Beastmaster Crest, Diana and Pet Items.
• It costs ???, 3,000 Motes, and  12 Riftwart Roots to acquire Taming 60.
