Griffin Burrows

Griffin Burrows are a feature that only appear while the Mythological Ritual perk from Diana is active.

Griffin Burrows can only be seen while the player is holding an  Ancestral Spade,  Archaic Spade, or  Deific Spade. The Echo ability points the player in the direction of the nearest Griffin Burrow: players can excavate these Burrows, which will either uncover a  Mythological Mob or treasure. After defeating the Mob or claiming the treasure, an arrow pointing to the next Burrow in the chain appears.

For each rarity level the player's  Griffin Pet is, new creatures can spawn from Griffin Burrows. Each Griffin Burrow comes in chains of four, six, eight, or ten each. Burrows only spawn on grass blocks on the Hub Island. The treasure hunt consists of a number of steps, each listed below.

When a Griffin Burrow displays an arrow, it will consist of yellow, red, or black particles. The color telegraphs the player's distance from the next Burrow.

When digging up a  Mythological creature, the Mob must be defeated before the Burrow can be excavated to continue the chain.

The first Griffin Burrow is guaranteed to summon an arrow. All subsequent burrows have a 75% (3 in 4) chance to spawn a Mob and a 25% (1 in 4) chance to contain treasure.

The available loot from treasure burrows is as follows, depending on the tier of the spade. It does not depend on the rarity of the player's  Griffin Pet.

The types of  Mythological mobs that can be dig up from a Griffin Burrow varies depending on the rarity of the player's  Griffin Pet.

Listed spawn chances are base chances.  Tracking increases the weight of  Elusive mobs. For example, having 15  Tracking would multiply their weights by 1.15x.

In addition to the stats listed below, all  Mythological mobs have 50% resistance to  Magic Damage.

Gaia Constructs as well as all mobs that first appear in EPIC tier or above are immune to damage from bows,^[Confirm] with the exception of King Minos' hit shield.
