The Catalyst is a RARE Minion Fuel item that multiplies minion resource generation by 3x for 3 hours. It triples the resources the minions would normally get from harvesting a block or a mob, therefore it doesn't actually have an impact on the time between actions. It is unlocked at End Stone IX (9).

This can be upgraded to the Hyper Catalyst.

Catalysts increase the amount of resources generated by the minion by 3x for 3 hours. Catalyst can be placed in all Minions.

• Using a Catalyst on a minion for the first time awards the "At the speed of light" Achievement.
• Catalysts used to be commonly used to craft beacons. However, in an update, they removed the ability to use a  Day Crystal,  Night Crystal, Catalyst, or  Saving Grace to craft a  Beacon.
• For some reason, the rarity of Catalysts is lower than that of the  Crystal Fragment used to craft it.
• Spreading upgrades (e.g.  Diamond Spreading and  Sleepy Hollow) will apply to the extra drops gained from Catalyst's bonus.
