Ender Nodes

Ender Nodes, also known as Shiny Blocks or Glowing Blocks, are blocks found in  The End. They have the appearance of  Purple Hardened Clay and emit purple particles. Upon breaking, loot will drop.

An Ender Node is a  Purple Hardened Clay block that replaces  End Stone or  Obsidian. Mining an Ender Node will cause it to drop items or spawn Nest Endermites. Afterwards, it first turns into  Bedrock then and shortly after into  End Stone or  Obsidian.

•  Stonk nullifies the Nest Endermites outcome.

The items dropped are determined by the ${\displaystyle \text{item quality}}$ of an Ender Node, which is always 120 when the Ender Node is first mined. Each possible drop from the Ender Node that has an ${\displaystyle \text{item quality requirement}<\text{total item quality}}$ is then rolled, and if chosen, subtracts the item's or mob's quality requirement from the total item quality of the Ender Node. This repeats until the Ender Node's ${\displaystyle \text{total item quality}}$ does not meet the quality requirements for any items. ^[Confirm]

• Breaking an Ender Node for the first time will reward the player with the "Oh Shiny" Achievement.
• Ender Nodes have been referred to as different things over time:
  • In 0.7.11 changelog, they were referred to as nodes.^[1]
  • They were called "Glowing Block" in the "Oh Shiny" Achievement's description "Mine a Glowing Block on the End Island".
  • Multiple players refered to them as "Shiny Blocks".
  • Finally, they were named Ender Nodes since October 13, 2022 on the Alpha Hypixel Network.
