Hyper Furnace is an UNCOMMON utility block unlocked at Cobblestone VIII (8). It is an upgrade from the regular  Furnace, and can smelt and cook items nearly instantly.

When using Hopper setup for a Hyper Furnace, the Hyper Furnace will only be as fast as the Hoppers, which is 0.4 items per second. Based on the assumption that the Hyper Furnace handles one item per tick, that means the Hyper Furnace is 8 times faster than the Hoppers.
