[August 25th] The Minister Update Alpha Testing

Updated: August 25, 2026

Today we have two separate updates on the Alpha Network: the Minister Update (which this thread is for) and the 0.27.1 Release Candidate (which you can find on this thread). We plan on releasing 0.27.1 to the network relatively soon - we don't think it will need that long on the Alpha Network. However, we wish to keep the Minister Update on the Alpha Network longer so that we can polish it to the point where all the Ministers are happy, so it will come out after 0.27.1. Now, back to your regularly scheduled patch note reading:

Hello again!

Today on the Alpha Network we have the long-awaited Minister Update. Since Aura ended, we have worked on the perks outlined by Ministers as part of their election campaigns, trying to preserve proposed perks as much as feasible while ensuring they would impact players in the most positive yet unintrusive way possible.

This alpha thread will get a little more technical than usual - altered perks will be suffixed with a "Designer Note" that will outline the vision, context, and process surrounding each perk and the alterations made. So, with that out of the way, we'd like to present to you, in chronological order of election, the results of the Minister Elections! Please note that not all perks are fully complete yet and that the perks we are presenting today are subject to change.

With that said, let's begin!

► Precursor Drone (thirtyvirus)

[edit | edit source]

The Precursor Drone has received some changes! Now being base Legendary, players may collect pet items known as "drone parts" from various areas of the game and attach them to the Precursor Drone in order to grant it new base stats and perks. There are currently 3 drone mods but, who knows, more might be added with time:

  • Drone Mod: Grungle -> Forest Essence Shop, 2,500x Forest Essence
  • Drone Mod: Contraband -> Crafted using various Junk items sourced from the Backwater Bayou
  • Drone Mod: Mining off Camera -> Diamond Essence Shop, 2,500x Diamond Essence

Designer Note: The Precursor Drone didn't release in an ideal state so we took some time to revisit it, looking to both better deliver on the customizable aspect of it and find a futureproof design that would allow for the pet to be further adjusted in the future. We saw a great suggestion on the forums (you can expect a Creative Mind in your Jerry after release!) that introduced "Drone Mods" - items that could be applied directly to the Drone to grant it base stats and perks, allowing for players to swap perks in and out depending upon their activity.

► Blood God Sigil & Potato Ring (Technodad)

[edit | edit source]

Technodad's perk started a Year of the Pig event while he was in office - along with buffs to Potato Minions, and introduced two new upgrades to the Potato Talisman and Blood God Talisman. Players can craft both these upgrades - which have been gracefully bestowed upon SkyBlock by the Great Potato King himself - from items gathered from Shiny Pigs.

Designer Note: This Minister Perk was already in the game and hasn't been adjusted as part of this release.

► Kuudra's Kidney, Lung, and Heart (Future77)

[edit | edit source]

Crafted from Kuudra Tentacles, which can be purchased from paid chests after defeating Kuudra, the Kuudra's Kidney, Lung, and Heart accessory line grants some useful quality-of-life features for those looking to take on the lava kraken.

Designer Note: This Minister Perk was already in the game and hasn't been adjusted as part of this release.

► Mining Fiesta Rework (zj2)

[edit | edit source]

When Mayor Cole is elected with his Mining Fiesta perk, said Fiesta will now span his entire mayorship! Though the buffs have been toned down a bit as a result, you can purchase a few Fiesta Flasks (as well as a brand-new Attribute) from Brynmor that stack additively with the base fortune buff from the fiesta, allowing you to either consume them when you're sure you have the time in order to maximize your profits, or store them up to go all-out during a future Fiesta.

Designer Note: Fiestas were previously extremely strong but balanced out by the fact that most players could never attend all of them. However, with fiestas actually being quite important to progression, this has become very frustrating for players who struggle to attend. As a result, we thought about the Minister's proposal and decided to weaken fiestas a bit, making them +25% Mining Fortune, but to allow them to span the entire duration of Cole's mayorship. We will see how this pans out and know that some players who attended entire Fiestas may be upset at their weakening, but the main goal here is for more players to be able to participate in fiestas and for less players to end up progression locked by them.

► Hotspot Talisman, Ring, and Artifact (Derailious)

[edit | edit source]

Located in the Clay Collection (Clay being the token drop of Water Hotspot Sea Creatures), the Hotspot Talisman line grants you even more useful buffs when fishing in a Hotspot, and is crafted out of materials gathered from various Hotspot Sea Creatures and junk found in the Bayou.

Designer Note: This Minister originally wanted a Tracking Mixin to help out new players, though this was delivered as part of the Harvest Feast update. As such, it was agreed upon that a new talisman line, which ended up being located in the Clay Collection. would be useful for early/mid-game fishers who spend a lot of their time fishing in Hotspots, regardless of whether they're treasure fishing or sea creature fishing.

► Dungeons Terminal Changes (fear5s)

[edit | edit source]

Some particularly dastardly Dungeons Terminals have been made a little easier/less time-consuming thanks to the work of this generous Minister, who has dropped the amount of inputs needed to complete each of them:

  • Reduced the amount of rows on the "Melody Terminal" from 4 -> 3
  • Reduced the amount of numbers on the "Numbers Terminal" from 14 -> 10

► Bestiary Accessory Line (Intrests)

[edit | edit source]

The Bestiary Talisman can be claimed from Grandma Wolf upon reaching Bestiary Milstone 50. The accessory evolves as you progress through the Bestiary, increasing its stats and upgrading its rarity:

  • Milestone 100 ->
    • Increases to UNCOMMON
    • Stats: Strength: +2, Intelligence: +1
  • Milestone 150 ->
    • Increases to RARE
    • Stats: Strength: +3, Intelligence: +2, Crit Damage: +1
  • Milestone 200 ->
    • Increases to EPIC
    • Stats: Strength: +4, Intelligence: +3, Crit Damage: +2, Ability Damage: +1
  • Milestone 250 ->
    • Increases to LEGENDARY
    • Stats: Strength: +5, Intelligence: +4, Crit Damage: +3, Ability Damage: +2, Tracking: +1
  • Milestone 300 ->
    • Increases to MYTHIC
    • Stats: Strength: +6, Intelligence: +5, Crit Damage: +4, Ability Damage: +3, Tracking: +2, Magic Find: +1

Designer Note: Though we have capped its rarity at Mythic due to not wanting to add Divine accessories to the game just yet, we were on board with the Minister's vision to have a strong accessory that scales with your Bestiary progress. Giving respectable amounts of some of the strongest combat stats in the game, we hope this is an adequate reward for getting so deep into your milestones.

► Hunt (Dra2oon)

[edit | edit source]

[REDACTED]

► Eagle Pet (Kuvdra)

[edit | edit source]

The Eagle Pet is a brand-new pet that helps players who are hunting mobs in Galatea. It's obtained from the Lushlilac Collection and helps with Combat Hunts in particular, though it also grants general Hunting Wisdom while on Foraging Islands.

Designer Note: Admittedly, this has been one of the more difficult perks to make work. The proposed design was perhaps a bit too strong - granting Hunting Fortune for each Eagle Pet on the island and having a chance to double the Shards output from fusions but, as a result of our attempts to prevent simply adding a pet that would be used to Hunting Fortune swap once Magic Find swaps are removed, the Eagle struggles to find a particularly strong niche.

However, since we initially started work on this pet the Critter Safari has released, so, if the Minister so desires, we could perhaps look to move this pet into the Safari Essence Shop and try to make it a strong Safari option (higher chance of Sparkling Critters, More loot from Floor Drops, unconditional Hunting Wisdom, etc.).

► Dungeons Yapping Nerfs (Celestial_Milk)

[edit | edit source]

All Bosses from Dungeon floors 1-6 now spend significantly less time talking, and cutscenes have also been sped up to remove the prolonged periods that players spend standing around waiting for the next phase of the fight to begin. The Watcher also now has less dialogue, talks faster, and spawns his summons at a faster rate than before if you have beat the floor at least five times.

Designer Note: Though the Minister initially proposed a consumable item that would speed up dialogue for the player, we decided to just make this a global QoL change for everyone to enjoy, and to speed up animations/waiting time as well as dialogue.

► Capybara Sanctuary (CandyPat)

[edit | edit source]

Designer Note: We're still finishing up cooking up this perk and you can expect to see it on Alpha soon. Though the Minister eventually suggested a Capybara Pet, we struggled to find an iteration of its proposed perks, which did things such as having a chance to double Dye drops - that felt good for the player. Imagine you drop a Dye but don't have your Capybara Pet equipped - suddenly you feel a twinge of regret rather than excitement over having dropped a dye - sort of similarly to how the Blessing enchantment used to interact with Aquamarine Dye. Our current concept is for the Moonglade Marsh to house a Capybara sanctuary, where you can feed Capybaras to power them up and eventually receive the Capybara's Blessing, which would grant you some strong foraging buffs for a while (timber, fortune, wisdom, etc.).

► Refractive Paint Palette (Refraction)

[edit | edit source]

The Refractive Paint Palette is a new item that, like Necron's Handle and Diana's Bookshelf, can be purchased from the Regalia Room for 75m coins. It tracks unique Dyes you've obtained with the item in your inventory and, upon completion, gives you some nice stats to boot! The palette even starts off blank and gains a new color each time you obtain a new Dye!

Designer Note: This Minister sought to add a new item similar in function to Necron's Ladder/Diana's Bookshelf that awarded Magic Find and Combat Wisdom upon being maxed out. While the original proposal was for it to track Crazy Rare Drops from Slayers, we discussed with the Minister and ended up settling on Dyes, as they're a more unified system that's more intuitive for the player to track.

► Powder of the People (Alaawii)

[edit | edit source]

This Minister sought to add the Powder of the People accessory line to the game, obtainable through the Dwarven Forge.

  • Powder of One -> Increases Mithril Powder gain by +2.5%
    • HOTM Requirement: 2
    • Material Requirement: 1x Refined Mithril, 1x Refined Titanium
    • Forging Process: 1 Hour
  • Powder of The Few -> Increases Mithril Powder and Gemstone Powder gain by +5%
    • HOTM Requirement: 5
    • Material Requirement: 1x Powder of One, 4x Gemstone Mixture, 32x Refined Mineral
    • Forging Process: 1 Hour
  • Powder of The Many -> Increases Mithril Powder, Gemstone Powder, and Glacite Powder gain by +7.5%
    • HOTM Requirement: 8
    • Material Requirement: 1x Powder of the Few, 4x Glacite Amalgamation, 32x Glossy Gemstone
    • Forging Process: 6 Hours
  • Powder of the People -> Increases Mithril Powder, Gemstone Powder, and Glacite Powder gain by +10%
    • Obtained via combining Powder of the People with Divan's Powder Coating in an Anvil

Designer Note: While the original concept for this accessory also buffed Sowdust, Essence, and Whispers, that was a little on the strong side. However, we were able to work with the Minister to reach the compromise of an accessory that boosted all three types of Powder gain while also maintaining the defining behavior of the accessory being able to be upgraded to its final tier through the use of Divan's Powder Coating, which was quite a unique concept. We also decided to use Refined Minerals & Glossy Gemstones in the Forge recipe due to them becoming easier and more reliable to obtain as we move to Yearlong Mining Fiestas.

► Scatha in a Bottle (Toadstar0)

[edit | edit source]

Craft yourself a Nothing-in-a-bottle upon reaching Living Metal Heart 3! What does it do, you may ask? Nothing! However, if you take the bottle out of the Rift and into the overworld, you may feel a strange compulsion to use it to capture a Scatha. Upon doing so, you'll find yourself with a brand-new Mixin that grants +0.1 Pristine!

Designer Note: While the original concept for this perk was to add a Mythic Scatha upgrade, the proposed perk was to prevent drills from consuming fuel. Not only do we already have concrete plans to add a Mythic Scatha upgrade in the future, but drill fuel is an important aspect of mining that we don't feel comfortable outright invalidating. However, it is important to question why such a perk would be proposed - mining can be difficult for higher-ping players, and server-side mining ticks + drills constantly updating their itemlore have been known to cause issues, which is what this minister sought to address. We have some changes coming in the future to help players in some ping-intensive areas of the game, such as with the Dojo, Tiny Dancer, and Vampire Slayer, so we will have a look at what we can do to make mining more friendly to players with less stable/higher ping connections.

► Returning Player Buffs (Endthr)

[edit | edit source]

Designer Note: We're just finishing cooking up this perk and you can expect to see it on Alpha soon. The long and short of it is that, once a player has been offline from SkyBlock for a month or more, when they next log in they'll be visited by a new NPC on their Private Island. The player can then claim limited-time buffs from said NPC - buffs that give coins, increase Skill XP gain, etc., to help them get back into the game a little faster.

► Secret Bingo #2 (arithenmonkey)

[edit | edit source]

This Minister desired a second Secret Bingo event, which we decided to release in April 2026 to coincide with April Fools. We were very happy with how it went - goals were discovered at a good pace, participation was high, and it seemed like players were having an all-round good time. You can expect another Secret Bingo in the future, though we don't have a concrete timeline for it just yet.

► HOTF/HOTM Loadouts (Luamon)

[edit | edit source]

This Minister wanted to add Loadouts that allowed you to swap around your HOTM/HOTF trees freely instead of having to constantly reset and rebuild them. The official "Loadouts Update" was added to the game a little over a month ago as part of Hypixel SkyBlock 0.26, and contained both the desired loadouts.

► Folf Shard & Dungeons Improvements (F22_Raptor)

[edit | edit source]
  • Added the Folf Shard (RARE):
    • Description: Increases your Speed Cap by +5-50 while in The Catacombs.
    • Obtainment: Fuse Soul of the Alpha + Epic or higher
  • Increased the pickup range of Wither Keys and Blood Keys in the Catacombs by 5 blocks
  • Increased the activation range of Fels by 5 blocks.

Designer Note: We liked the initial concept this Minister had, of adding a new Attribute to help players speed through Dungeons. Though the Minister later suggested adding a passive pet, now that we have attributes we are trying to move away from passive pets, and would like to adjust all existing ones in the future. Because of this, we simply added two of their suggested passive perks as innate features for everyone to enjoy.

► Dark Auction Changes (lejimbo)

[edit | edit source]

It has been made easier to obtain the Seal of the Family accessory line:

  • Reduced Dark Auction purchases required to obtain the Shady Ring from 5 -> 1
  • Reduced Dark Auction purchases required to obtain the Crooked Artifact from 10 -> 3
  • Reduced Dark Auction purchases required to obtain the Seal of the Family from 15 -> 7

The following changes have also been made to the Dark Auction pool:

  • Added Prosecute VI
  • Added Execute VI
  • Removed Sharpness VI
  • Removed Protection VI

Designer Note: We also made some server size improvements to the Dark Auction back in January as part of this perk.

► Infinipot (rembutquaglet)

[edit | edit source]

The Infinipot is a new accessory, purchasable for 5,000 Wither Essence, that will automatically consume dungeon potions from your inventory when a new Dungeons run begins. If the player does not have a Dungeon Potion, the accessory will automatically purchase their desired tier of potion using coins from their purse or bank.

Designer Note: We believe this iteration to be identical to the Minister's vision, introducing some useful QoL that synergizes with Jellyfish Pet petrules. If this isn't the case and the accessory is triggering at the wrong time, please let us know.

► Frog's Spirit (KeepAura)

[edit | edit source]

Purchased from the Forest Essence Shop for 5,000 Forest Essence, the Frog's Spirit is an Ability Scroll that can be used to apply the "Leapfrog" ability to Fig and Helix Boots. Once they have the ability scroll applied, players will be able to double jump while Foraging!

Additionally, we have added permanent Jump Boost IV to the Frog Pet's "Hop" perk.

Designer Note: Though this Minister initially wanted some new pieces of Foraging equipment that granted a Double Jump effect, we had already decided upon our final upgrade lines for Foraging (David's Cloak, Honeycomb Necklace, Veilshroom Bracelet, Safari Belt), so there wasn't much room for an additional piece, especially if it wanted to be BiS. However, we did really like the idea of it allowing the player to Double Jump, so we transformed the equipment piece into an ability scroll instead. Since no other pieces of Foraging armor/equipment have abilities right now, perhaps there is room for more scrolls in the future.

► More Pity (MashClash)

[edit | edit source]

The following pity meters have been added to this game as a result of this Minister's efforts:

  • Special Zealots
  • Vanquishers

/pity also no longer requires a Booster Cookie to use.

Designer Note: We didn't add the initially proposed Shattered Locket pity due to the Frozen Corpse RNG Meter releasing shortly after the campaign. As for the Phoenix Pet, we're not sure where the Phoenix pet's place in the game should be, but don't want to add it to a pity in its current state of obtainment.

► End Aura (End_Aura)

[edit | edit source]

True to their word, this Minister decided that the next election would be Aura's last. What a power move!

► Weather (ALAND_)

[edit | edit source]

The following islands within SkyBlock may now experience periodic bouts of weather!

  • Backwater Bayou
  • Crimson Isle
  • Crystal Hollows
  • Dwarven Mines
  • Glacite Tunnels
  • Jerry Island
  • Lotus Atoll
  • Moonglade Marsh
  • Spider's Den
  • The End
  • The Garden

Mild weather occurs every 20 minutes, and grants thematic stats to all players on the island. Every 3rd instance of weather will instead of EXTREME, granting more stats alongside an exclusive bonus.

To see a list of all the types of Weather and their accompanying buffs, you can climb the mountain in The Hub and speak to Professor Wynd who, due to a recent crash landing, has taken up residence inside what was previously Scoop's house. He's been studying these strange bouts of weather and would be glad to show you his research.

Designer Note: Though this Minister initially campaigned to add a "Quest Master" of sorts to The Hub, we already have some plans for improving the opening stages of the game and were slightly worried that a Quest Master could distract players from a future "tutorial" of sorts. However, we noticed that the Minister's backup perk - weather - was very fleshed out, and the concept really appealed to us. We thus worked with the Minister to add weather to several islands of the game in accordance with their vision.

► Parts of Aura Will Stay (Aura_STAY)

[edit | edit source]

Designer Note: Though this Minister was unable to actually ensure that Aura would stay thanks to a previous Minister using their perk to ensure this would be Aura's last election, we saw how much players enjoyed the sped-up progression that Aura offered throughout her mayorship and, as you may have noticed, have recently been trying to reduce some of the game's longer grinds:

  • Bestiaries were reduced across the board as part of the Torrhus Canyon & Critter Safari update
  • The Magic Find rework is on the Alpha horizon, and will particularly help newer players progress faster

► Dungeons Tick Changes (FlameOfWar)

[edit | edit source]

Even more Dungeon changes come courtesy of this Minister, who has made changes to secrets that will lead to faster clears on all floors as well as some more specific changes to the "Simon Says" terminal:

  • Reduced the amount of time it takes to pick up a secret from 11 -> 5 ticks
  • Removed one set of lights from the "Simon Says" terminal in F7/M7

► Other Changes

[edit | edit source]
  • Improved itemlore of Refined Minerals
  • Improved itemlore of Glossy Gemstones
  • Improved itemlore of Magical Milk Bucket
  • Adjusted Spinosaurus Pet's "Primordial Fisher" perk, and renamed it to "Adaptive Fisher":
    • Old: Increases this pet’s base stats by x% during rain.
    • New: Increases this pet’s base stats by x% during Weather.
  • Adjusted Quartzfang Shard:
    • Old: Mining Speed from Events is increased by +10-100%.
    • New: Grants +10-100 Mining Speed on Mining Islands while Weather is active
  • Adjusted category of Implosion, Shadow Warp, Wither Shield from DUNGEON ITEM -> ABILITY SCROLL
  • Adjusted the location of recipes in the Clay Collection to make room for the Hotspot accessory line
  • Adjusted the Blizzard in a Bottle to now increase the effects of weather on players by 10%
  • Adjusted Fishing Speed stat scaling to be more linear
    • Designer Note: These changes look to make Fishing Speed gains more noticeable for early-game fishers instead of ramping up more noticeably as you approach the cap. Nobody at any game stage gets weaker here.
  • Adjusted Creative Minds:
    • New Creative Minds are Soulbound
    • Itemlore can now be customized by Staff to input a reason for awarding
    • Going forward, itemlore for new Creative Minds will state they were awarded by "The Hypixel Team"
      • Designer Note: The goal here is for us not to effectively be dumping several billion coins on a player when awarding them a Creative Mind. Like the original Wiki items, CM's are intended to be a commemoration of an achievement, not a marketable asset.

Feel free to leave any feedback on this update in the comments below. We will especially be keeping an eye out for feedback from Ministers themselves. If you have feedback in regards to the 0.27.1 Release Candidate, please leave it on its respective thread instead.

If you encounter any bugs or unexpected behavior, please report it HERE!
