Pet Candies

Pet Food are items that can be given to Pets to grant it XP, without gaining its corresponding Skill experience.

A Pet may be fed up to 10 Pet Candy during its lifetime. Each candy fed will count as 1 use, regardless of the type of candy.

Other types of Pet Food that aren't Carrot Candy can be applied infinitely. These are  Pet Cake,  Chyme, Gabagool, and  Fish Food.

To use Pet Food, right-click the pet while holding the food.

A  Caducous Feeder may also be used to feed a pet  Ultimate Carrot Candy. This will not add to its candy counter, and can be used even if the pet already has the maximum of 10 candies used. It also grants an extra 10% XP on top of the normal amount the pet would earn from an  Ultimate Carrot Candy. However, it only has two charges, resetting after 20 hours.

Feeding any type of candy to a pet grants it pet XP, counting towards its total XP levels.

• Having candy used showing on a pet usually makes players consider it lower value, especially if it's not max level and its candy uses have been wasted with lower quality candies.
• If a pet with LEGENDARY or higher rarity has gained enough XP to be max level even without the XP from the candies, the number of candies used will disappear. However, it is still exposed in the item's NBT data, and may be shown by mods or third-party websites such as SkyCrypt.
• Feeding a pet non-candy food, or candies with the  Caducous Feeder, will not have a visible effect on the pet, even in its NBT data, and is therefore practically indistinguishable from leveling it naturally.
• Gabagool is affected by Pet XP boosts, such as  Beastmaster Crest, Diana,  All Skills Exp Boost and  Taming, when being fed to Wisp Pets. Other Pet Foods however are not.
