Dyed Armor

Before the 0.7.4 Update November 11, 2019, players were able to use dyes, of any color, to color any Armor of their choice. Now that dyed Armor became unobtainable, the price of still existing pieces is skyrocketing. Therefore, prices can be upwards of millions of Coins for a single piece of the armor to billions of Coins for a full set.

After the 0.12.3 Update March 1, 2022, players could once again dye Armor, but restricted to the 23 different Dye colors. So the Armor pieces would appear different to exotics, there is an icon next to the item's name and the color of the Dye in the description.

Dyeing Armor was still possible, but only with Crystal and Fairy Armor. Armor pieces with Crystal/Fairy Armor colors are worth less than normal dyed armor but still have value and are collected. Large communities collect these armor sets, with some players being largely known for their collection.

NOTE: It is no longer possible to dye armor, as Dyeing with Crystal and Fairy armor was patched.

NOTE: Even though Armors like Yellow Shark Scale Armor are not dyed originally, they are still expensive as they were obtainable through normally crafting upon release of the Armor, which is no longer obtainable.

Hex Codes

[edit | edit source]

In order to check the color of an Armor piece, you need to check the Hex Code. Using the hotkeys F3 + H, the player can enable the formatting code which makes Hex Codes visible (not relevant on versions 1.16.2+).

Here is a list of crystal armor hexcodes:

Rarity

[edit | edit source]

Some dyed armor pieces are more rare than others, this is solely due to the quantity of dyed armor pieces and colors.

This is an estimate of dyed armor and how many pieces may exist (in alphabetical order):

NOTE: White, black, and most dark colors appear to be the more expensive colors. However, Yellow is a very common color for dyed boots because many players used to dye their armor to recreate a fake Superior Dragon Armor set. Additionally colors that are very similar to the Fairy/Crystal armor sets are also less expensive.

Prices

[edit | edit source]

The cheapest sets are Dragon Armor , farmer boots and most 4 piece sets, except for Miner Armor due to their availability. These sets can go for around 300k-80k coins.

The more "exotic" the color, the more people will pay for it. Example: if it's a White, or a Black, (The most expensive colors) full sets of certain armors, like Superior Dragon Armor, can go for over 2x their normal price.

Fully-dyed 'exotic' Tarantula Armor most definitely exist and sets can go for upwards of 100 million coins

Example of rarity comparison: White Young Dragon Armor is way more expensive because of the color, compared to Mint or cyan Young Dragon Armor.
